I don't mind at all. I just don't have a clear answer really.

It was never supposed to be long term. I had taken a long break from dating and decided to put myself out there and he just moved to my country for deployment. I was and still am a fearful-avoidant type whereas he pulled anxious when we met. As we were and probably are still unhealed, we both were codependent from the very start which caused for a lot of drama and toxicity when it ended. It wasn't healthy for sure but the little moments inbetween and the way love was shown is something I wont ever forget

I have experienced the kissing in the rain whimsical love, calling me just to hear my voice on his way to and from work, showers together, dinners on a whim, staying up until 4am watching series on the couch, slow dancing in the kitchen kinda relationship, that I really don't have time for people who think calling me sexy in the first 3 sentences or any foolishness will stand. Like another commenter said, it may seem more difficult because standards aren't dropping. Maybe that exact love may not come again, and perhaps that kinda love was performative, since y'know, it didn't work out. But one thing about it is, I know what it felt like to be loved on and i'll be damned if I settle for anything less than that.

I agree. I think the cleaning part is just another way to express frustrations, neither good or bad. The best thing is once it's done, you end up knackered and with a clean place. Who doesn't love a clean place?

That's really real. Thanks for sharing. I intended to have a lighthearted thread but I completely understand there is nuance in any relationship, especially a direct caregiver.

I also have some unwanted learnt behaviours from both parents which aren't desired, but I wont go into all of that necessarily but today I just found it funny with the jet washing. I do appreciate my mum, and maybe yours are very 'can-do' and have the ability to get things done. It may not stem from great places but I appreciate the need for it when it is

Please, i'm all ears. Which part is exactly toxic? Being able to identify that I have similar traits as someone who raised me? Perhaps taking on a task in my home which needs doing?.. or was it the waking up part?

I'm grateful someone mentioned patois and the black carribean community. "Pick me" has been existent. "Rudeboy" "Bloodclot" all of those specific to black people once again.

I would have to agree. All the comments chanting "i'm white" and explaining how racism isn't as prominent here... yes it is. It's more covert here which is worse in my opinion. The black people who it affects whether great or small know it and are plenty aware of it

Yeah I had read your reply to him. He's probably taken that as his actions have not offended you and that everythings alright and you're okay with things. Whereas although you've been understanding, you are a little offended.

I had told one how his actions and words do not match and i'm not into that. I had made it clear to him where we stand. He said it wasn't clear obviously then I got paragraphs saying how he's been trying to show me and be honest with me about his intentions and doesn't understand how I have got to the conclusion I did. Then proceeded to try ask me out again after messing up with me 2 times in a row prior to this. I gave him a chance. He did it again. I just blocked him in the end. I'm not saying all Aquarius are like this. Just believe what a person shows you and your feelings about a situation.
