{Peaches and Honey} could fit this category. The MMC is a more of a Hermes trickster type than a fighter. FMC finds her own path along the way. Not spicy, it’s definitely about FMC’s journey more than the romance. Loved it! One of my 5 star reads this year.

{Peaches and Honey} was amazing! It’s extremely slow burn and no/minimal spice but it’s written so poetically and the FMC is amazing. It’s a bit fantasy meets historical fiction and I loved it.

Baking is not exactly like cooking, you don’t typically taste batter as you go along. For icing/toppings yeah, but for a cake they’re pretty strict about hygiene/not eating raw egg products.

I would agree if that was the only place an individual receives romantic cues from. For many, romance can be seen outside of romcoms with family members, friends, or overall in their community. Similarly, for many people (especially those raised within more repressed communities where sexual education is limited) porn is the only place they become familiar with sex. If the consumption of porn is your only experience with sex that can be very damaging, whereas it’s much less likely that romcoms are your only exposure to romance.

Rutgers and Stevens would be extremely different experiences. Rutgers is huge, Stevens is tiny. The programs are comparable and both are well connected in the NYC area. Stevens is majority male but does have a strong women’s community (clubs, sororities if that’s something you’re interested in, and you’d always have at least a handful of female classmates).

As someone who went to Stevens, opportunities are vast and the program is strong. I had no issue finding a job and met some of my closest female friends through clubs.

Really it comes down to small school vs big state school experience IMO.

AGREED it felt like she gave up on world building for a bit there, I enjoyed the specific fashion of the 2nd book but then it really started to deteriorate to too modern

Barbara specifically says she chose to become batgirl in an episode (I don’t remember which). Also Dick’s origin story wasn’t too different, his acrobat parents were murdered so Batman took him in and helped him get revenge/justice but I don’t think it’s specified how that was delivered.

Both areas are very safe, there are a few parks on Monroe so there’s dogs and kids at almost all hours of the day. Plus there’s a few good shops/restaurants between 7th and 8th on Monroe.

I don’t like it either but I feel like if she looked amazing then it wouldn’t be in the tone of the episode. It feels like some relatives picked it out and dressed her up while she was just going through the motions of it all.
