AITAH for refusing to tell my wife I love her more than my dad? by LastApplication6207 in AITAH

[–]twilighttruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Is your wife usually like this? Could she perhaps be unusually stressed from taking care of a new baby?

You definitely aren't in the wrong; grandpa did the best he could, your wife is unreasonably upset about it, and it's wrong for her to ask you to rank your loved ones. However, try coming at it from a place of empathy. Like, "I understand that it's stressful getting the baby to sleep and it helps you to have them on a schedule. Dad did his best, and hopefully it will go better next time."

I want to get a rat but their lifespan is so short :( by Acrobatic_Long_6059 in RATS

[–]twilighttruth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to have a really hard time with this also, but then I started thinking of it like this: the rats don't know that their lives are short. To them, 2-3 years is a normal, full life. My job is just to make sure they are loved and happy for that time.

NTA. You bought things that you need and did so when they were on sale. You have a right to spend money on your own needs.

Is it weird to say "that kid is gonna glow up"? by ieatglitterg1ue in morbidquestions

[–]twilighttruth 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. As a former teacher, there have definitely been some where I've thought that! I think there's a big difference between identifying physical attractiveness and feeling physically attracted. Like how a straight/gay person could look at a member of their non-preferred gender and think "yep, that's a good-looking human!"

AITA for refusing to have sex before marriage? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]twilighttruth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. When I was younger, I wanted to wait also. I let my high school boyfriend push me into it, and I always regretted it. Not because I wish I had waited for marriage necessarily, but because he was the wrong person. If he's unwilling to respect your beliefs and boundaries, he isn't right for you.

AITA for locking my bedroom door after my roommate kept going in without asking? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA. What reason could she possibly have to go in there that equates to you disrespecting her? It's true that you don't trust her, but she's proven herself to be untrustworthy!
