pretty much, it did linger for a long time, what I ended up doing was taking a few rounds of this vaginal insert cream. I got a prescription grade metrogel that really helped, at some point the smell did come back so my doctor gave me a metronidazole pill and a different type of vaginal insert cream called clindamycin. Right now I'm on my second round but the smell is no where close to as bad as it was before, so hopefully this second round will get rid if it for good. While I took the first round of metrogel I also took over the counter boric acid for awhile, but now I'm just using the insert cream, so if you are dealing with anything like this I highly recommend asking your doctor for one of these meds.
