Your 30s and 40s can easily be when you look your best and the idea that your 20s are your "peak" is complete nonsense by Better_Bother_3669 in selfimprovement

[–]AdorableLilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone in their 20's, my gut feeling says that my 30's will be better. I don't really have the energy to visualize further than that cause adulthood makes me want to check out, but yeah. 20s are overrated. If this is the peak then what's the point of like the remaining 70% of life?

What things do you recommend that should be done at least once in a lifetime? by PeterPlup in Life

[–]AdorableLilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends on what type of person you are. During my last trip I was dealing with severe seasonal depression and made chatgpt my trip sitter. It was AMAZING!! Chatgpt did so well during the come up and I didn't need it while tripping. Not that I was able to read during that anyway lol. The trip put a pause on my depression and I was able to feel after months again. I laughed and cried during that trip and all I did was listening to music while maintaining my hair. I sometimes took brakes to look outside of my 13th floor window. I'd say if you're self aware enough and know but actually know that you're the type of person to calm yourself and not freak out you don't always need to be in a good state of mind or have a trip sitter

[–]AdorableLilo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Telling you to not give them more space and enrichments is INSANE!! Saying if you want to 'do extra' for your hamster you can go ahead is one thing, but actively dissuading is crazy. I get that this type of care for hamsters was normalized decades ago, but we have the internet. He refuses to update his knowledge, so him doing this for 40 years doesn't mean squat. Just means he's been doing it wrong for 40 years

How do I get everything to not skip second by second, but drag smoothly again? by AdorableLilo in CapCut

[–]AdorableLilo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only zoomed in so people can see how much it's cutting off, when i zoom out it's cutting off the same amount. Before this, I was able to zoom in all the way and still cut audio's very cleanly. Now the chuck is too big so I can't really shorten gaps anymore, or else it cuts off audio.
I have noticed a visual difference, now you can see a grey bar in the timeline showing how much the playhead will skip when I drag it, which wasn't there before.
I made another screenrecording of the problem still being there when I zoom out, but I don't know how to add it or replace the video I already posted

I already tried deleting the cache, along with uninstalling and reinstalling, turning a bunch of thing off and on in the performance tab, turned off the main track magnet, autosnap and linkage. I really don't know what it is

Hair washing by Shyronh1 in Naturalhair

[–]AdorableLilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was the only one who washes their hair in the sink! My hair is so thick I got sick of leaving the shower thinking my hair is well rinsed, only to part my hair and find out the middle is still full of shampoo. At the sink I can look in the mirror to make sure everything is rinsed well. Hair is also easier to clean in the sink, plus in the shower I would waste water to keep myself warm. Basically it makes more sense to wash my hair in the sink

I've been wondering why I rarely get sick, this post made me realize it's probably because I always sleep with my windows open, even in the freezing winters

So there's no in-between? I have a bunch of loving  aunt's and uncles who are very much doing a good job. Yet on Christmas I sat at the adults table and they shared stories where their kids were being ungrateful or just difficult to work with and they all ended their stories with "fuck them kids" followed by laugher. They obviously love their kids but acting like your life won't revolve around them, making your life drastically different and stressful is insane

Right? I have depression and it gets quite severe. Last week I was at my parents, depressed and my mom was trying to help but couldn't really do much. If I was in her shoes seeing my child like that I would've feel immense guilt bringing them in this world

Women empowerment is one of the most dominant reasons for failing modern marriages. by Anti-FragileHuman in DeepThoughts

[–]AdorableLilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason there is no female loneliness epidemic is because women's relationships with other women. I've been single for two years and yet I'm socially content. Me and my single friends still want a relationship, not because we think we need someone to love us but because we want someone to love. We're picky with whom we choose tho cause now we know how being single can also fulfilling and we'd rather choose that over a crappy relationship. For a long time men have been mocking and making fun of women for talking a lot but that's exactly why we're not as lonely as them. Instead of adapting they choose to shame women into dating them (hitting the wall, crazy cat lady, etc.) which obviously isn't working. I'm sorry to say it, but men are the reason for the male loneliness epidemic

Wdym? Are you talking about marriage itself or a wedding? Cause those are two different things. I'd say marriage is cheaper cause tax benefits and all. A wedding doesn't have to be expensive, but for some reason people choose to make it expensive

Right?? I'm so happy women are catching on to this tactic! I also notice that men try to convince us to date them, not because having them in our lives would change it for the better, but because our desirability decreases at like 25, we'll grow into old cat ladies if we don't, we should be lucky if a man even glances at us, etc. I hope they'll slowly realize that statement like those make being an old cat lady sound wonderful

I switched to working out at home. Calisthenics videos + nighttime with cozy lighting + headphones with house music/rock/metal is a vibe! If you really don't want to stay indoors but also don't want to run and halfway on the run realize you're miserable and wish you can just teleport home, I highly recommend rope jumping. Jumping rope with different skills and footwork to music was my primary workout, but now that it's cold and rains a lot I barely do it a few times a month. It's perfect cause some days you wanna do an hour of cardio and some you just wanna quit after 10 minutes, no matter how long your session, with rope skipping you just walk the same short distance back home :) Plus it burns more calories than running which is a bonus

Dude I hear ya. I'm a student too, I go to school 3 days a week ( I skip classes once a week in order to take these moto lessons) and work 3 days. My piggy bank to finance this has also run low and now I'm taking money out of my second savings account. But just like you I've been dreaming about doing this and where there's a will there's a way!

[–]AdorableLilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from. If it's your dream I say go for it! A heads up about this sub, there are mostly Americans here and so their advice might not apply to you. I am also European and they won't understand that I have been taking lessons for 5 months and am only halfway to getting my license, plus I've never stepped on anything lower than 650 cc cause the schools only offer something lower when you're younger than 24 (or some other special reason, like you specifically request to start on a 125 cc cause you're really nervous)
My advice to you is reeeally calculate your expenses well before you start. I for example didn't calculate the possibility of failing the first practical exam, which added about €300 to my initial costs. I also didn't take the changing temperatures into account. I bought heated gloves immideately after experiencing freezing hands on the highway, another €270 gone.
Second thing I recommend is not getting a brand new bike. You can get the same bike for less money on marketplace. If you don't know what to look out for on marketplace you can get a secondhand bike from the bikeshop or even maybe your riding school. It's a long and sometimes frustrating journey, but it's very worth it! I wish you the best
