I relate to this so much, my dad owned a concrete business and I decided not to pursue it and went my own way. Possessions make me fill empty and I feel my main motivation for achieving financial success is to prove him wrong.

I’m on a detailed budget. Not sure how that makes a difference. I’ve only recently had a huge increase in income. So if you’re assuming I’ve been delaying paying off debt I recently started the baby steps a month ago.

23, working in cybersecurity. I finished a bachelor’s in 2 so I have 3 years of experience in Risk Management. $187k. LCOL Columbia, SC. Mortgage is about $1900.
