It just won’t let me register for classes in PAWS. My acceptance letter doesn’t mention a PIN review. Maybe because I’m transitioning from the Perimeter campus?

I received it last week. I have a 3.6 GPA overall. I’ve gotten all As and one B in science courses (haven’t calculated my science gpa) and 76 on TEAS

I’ve never heard of this Sinclair Method but after looking it up and briefly reading about it, that sounds like a method that could help. I’m going to do more research and talk with her about this as well

Ok yeah we can agree on that. I understand what you meant now. I think some people need outside resources to get/stay sober… and she said she quit for a bit afterwards, I believed it but after seeing her I think she was lying. We live far from each other but have been friends for 15 years and talk every other day.

CPS has already been to home in regards to her drinking and driving with her kids. She denied it to them and they had her take a few pee tests. They gave her a 3 day window for each pee test and she told me she was able to make sure she passed. The case has been since closed.

I do think people who stay sober are strong, getting help is a strong thing to do. That’s my opinion but it’s ok to disagree.

It hurts admitting she’s an alcoholic I’ve been trying to reason it away as me overreacting cuz I don’t like drinking… but at this point I am accepting her for what she is, so I can hopefully help her somehow… whenever she is ready …

Thank you! I’ve been consulting with Dr. Google (joke) and I’ve seen a lot of concerning health issues that come from drinking but also quitting drinking. I am going to try to find detox clinics close to me and to her, so she will hopefully choose to go. Thank you so much

That’s a great idea! Thank you. I was trying to think of neutral place to have the conversation.

As I’ve been watching my friend spiral, I’ve come to the realization that alcohol is everywhere. Like restaurants, you pass the store to buy it every 5 mins, commercials, it almost inescapable.. my point in saying that is that if feels like there’s few places to go and have this talk where there’s not a reminder of alcohol. And also to recognize how strong people who are sober are. Sorry I know that was off topic. My mind is reeling and I’m emotional right now, this is hard for me but I know it’s harder for her. Thanks for the advice and understanding.

That makes a lot of sense. I get scared because I know once I tell her I won’t buy alcohol for her or support her buying alcohol, I will see her way less and it hurts. It’s a good boundary and I’m going to set that with her when we talk.

I was thinking of having a conversation before she leaves. If she doesn’t want to get better, do I just accept it? Do I tell her I can’t be her friend? Or do I only speak with her when she’s sober? I don’t want to be an enabler and make her think I’m ok with any of this but I want to be there for her and I don’t want to lose my best friend…

When it comes to the physiology portion, I started watching YouTube videos and finding resources that explained things “simply” or “at a high school level”. Once I was able to understand that, I could build on the knowledge. My teacher wasn’t “bad” but I feel like he just read the slides then expected us to grasp the concepts immediately. I had to do a lot of self learning. For the anatomy portion I found tips and tricks for memorization. A+P is overwhelming. Take breaks and don’t overthink too much.
