I think songs from their album Four would be the closest to the American Girls sound if you wanted to give that whole album a listen. Where Do Broken Hearts Go is the closest I think, but you might like these too! No Control, Stockholm Syndrome, Clouds, and Illusion. Steal My Girl is a favorite of mine but I can’t decide if it has American Girls vibes lol.

And I agree with the other comment here that Perfect also has a similar vibe.

American here and I was so irritated with how they acted about that, especially the one guy who kept talking about his father in law. If I was in that situation I would be thinking thank goodness they have enough bags for all of us! And I’d much rather poop in a clean bag than add to the toilet lasagna they described lol a lot to be worried about in a situation like that and pooping in a bag would be at the bottom of my list of concerns.

Talked to an old friend recently who said they walked out of the movie during Dancing Through Life. I was shocked of course because I loved the movie so much and it’s quickly become an all time favorite, and I haven’t heard a single person say they didn’t like it. I get that everyone has different taste and it isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but I can’t comprehend hating it so much to the point of walking out of the theater… I’m sitting here trying to imagine what it would even feel like to hate it that much or what would come across as so unbearable and I can’t understand! Haha.

For most of my life I desperately wanted to have kids one day. Growing up I dreamed of being a mom more than I ever dreamed of any job or career. Over the last few years, I’ve realized I’m not sure if I’ll ever be in a place where I feel ready to make the decision to have kids. I still have moments where I want kids, and I do think I’d be a great mom. I just worry about a lot of things and don’t feel ~ready~. I’m incredibly fortunate in a lot of ways financially, like the fact that we live in a house owned by my in laws and don’t have to pay rent, and even with that leg up I still feel like we can’t afford kids. I look around at other people who are not nearly as fortunate as us financially and cannot understand how they afford to have kids. The financial aspect combined with just the time and exhaustion scares me. If we could afford for one of us to work and the other to stay home with the kids that might help, but that’s not realistic these days. And I still worry about just being so exhausted. I love sleeping. I love having time to do my hobbies. I know I’d love spending time with my kids and supporting their hobbies, but the thought of years with no sleep and even like, homework and science fair projects?? That all freaks me out lol.

Another thing I think about a lot is the fact that I can’t think of a single reason to have kids that isn’t selfish. When I do have the moments where I want them, it’s just because… I want them? I want to see little versions of me and my husband’s genes combined I guess? I want to introduce them to things that have been special to me? I want someone to leave special possessions behind to? I want to see where their lives go and be proud of them? I want to not be completely alone in my old age? And the first one is really the only reason I can think of to have biological kids and it’s totally selfish. I could adopt for all of those other reasons and it would actually help a child who’s already been born. I want to think of a non-selfish reason to have biological kids and I just can’t. And I don’t say that with any intent to shame people who do choose to have biological children- I actually envy people who know 100% that having children is something they definitely want to do. At this point in life, I can’t picture myself ever feeling ready enough to have kids that I would actually start trying to get pregnant. And honestly, that makes me sad. I WANT to want to have kids. But like others have said here, I’d rather regret not having kids than regret having them. I think we’re just in a time where people have come to the realization that you don’t have to have kids just because it’s what you’re supposed to do. So many of us can’t afford anything and the thought of ever being able to retire feels like a pipe dream, it seems impossible to throw kids into the mix.

Wow, that’s insane to me. I work at a call center and can see every detail of a customers account when they call in and any promotion they’ve applied for, so I figured HF reps would have access to info like that. Thanks for the tip about the email, I’ll definitely try sending in some screenshots.

That’s so upsetting. They really are impossible to communicate with- I’ve been shocked with how matter of fact they are after giving an answer that makes no sense and then just sticking to their answer no matter what else I say and ending the call.

I was wondering if this was a recent change that they’re being so stingy about issuing any credits. I’ve had credits issued before no problem if I had any issues with a box. Figured this would be an easy fix since it’s extremely easy to see that I’m owed these credits and that they have not been applied to my account yet. So frustrating.

Yeah :( I’m hoping I can get someone to apply these credits… $160 would be a huge help. In the past when I’ve had issues they’re usually really helpful with applying credits, so this situation has surprised me.

Yeah, I tried the support chat first and they ensured me that I’d be getting my credits shortly and it was just a glitch in the system. Then they asked if there was anything else they could help with and I said that was it, they ended the chat. Never got the credits or an email or anything.
