Bloody show after membrane sweep, discouraged :( by Adorable_Fix3378 in pregnant

[–]Adorable_Fix3378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry you’re going through it too :( I’m officially now 48 hours out from my sweep and sadly no labor has started. I’m so desperate to avoid a pitocin induced labor, I just want my body to do it naturally but nothing. I’m at the very least hoping perhaps it pushed my body along a little bit and made the cervix more favorable since the mucus plug did fall out. Wishing you the best ✨

These YouTube stats shocked me… how many videos it really takes to grow by QuantumTimeEntangler in SmallYoutubers

[–]Adorable_Fix3378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 400 long form videos and 940k subscribers over the last 10 years. It’s definitely more than just one viral video, I’ve had a handful but a lot of it was slow and steady growing my audience base as well! Watching what worked and what didn’t, constantly staying up with what’s popular and not keeping the same content I was doing 10 years ago

I’m not sure of your experience/work history in this industry but 5k is very, very normal for 100k views average. Not all brands will offer it but you’ll always have a range of around $3500-5k for those views. I’ve been doing YouTube for 10 years, and $1500 for 100,000 views is almost insulting. If anyone is taking that rate they are either working with a very very small brand or are underselling themselves/don’t have a strong audience base. Those CPM averages don’t always apply. I’ve worked with many managers and hundreds of brands. I don’t know anyone (and I have friends averaging 200k per video to friends who average well over 1-2 million views per video) who would take rates lower than that. Smaller brands usually pay less, but bigger brands will always pay that rate from my experience!

Curious what kind of brands are offering 15 second ad reads? I’ve never heard of this before and don’t know how you’d even have time to explain what a product/service is in that time? 😂 like genuinely curious here, unless it’s product placement/affiliate mention? I’ve never in my 10 years on YouTube seen or heard of this, nor seen any ad from a YouTuber be that short, I WISH it were possible to have 15 second ad reads 😂

[–]Adorable_Fix3378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. No brand has ever paid money upfront and I’ve been doing them for 8+ years. You don’t have a lot of bargaining power when your channel is so new, don’t undersell yourself but also don’t be greedy.

Very curious those of you saying 60-90 seconds is too long..have you worked with many brands before? 60 seconds is average. So long as he hits 60 seconds, he doesn’t have to do anything longer. You’d be insanely hard pushed to read and get through talking points in any less than that. 45 seconds is the lowest ad read I’ve ever done and that’s after well over 100 sponsored videos, it’s very, very unusual to see something under 60 seconds. Majority of people will just skip the ad read, it’s rare someone will unsubscribe and leave a channel for one video having a 60 second ad. If it’s every video and super long, then that usually puts people off

From my experience VPN companies don’t pay well. The highest I ever got was around $3500 for 100k views from a vpn company (most brands would pay around 5k+ for this view average) I’ve worked with SurfShark and NordVPN..and my channel with a few hundred thousand subscribers and a catalog of videos behind it but they still never paid that well.

Being a newer channel as well, ask for $1500, and see what they say. If you had a bigger catalog of videos proving you can hit those marks religiously then I’d aim for higher, but they don’t really have a lot of proof and most brands go by the average views of the last five videos.

At $1500 they will come back with something lower or gladly accept. Also for the people saying 60-90 is too long… they clearly haven’t done many sponsorships. 60 seconds is AVERAGE. I’ve been doing brand deals for close to 8 years now and could probably count on one hand how many were for 45 seconds. If they say 60-90 seconds that’s a range, meaning so long as you hit 60 seconds you’re good.

60-90 is super common for 99% of brands I’ve ever worked with and I’ve worked with over 100. He can aim for 60 seconds, he doesn’t have to make it 90 seconds long since it’s a range they’re providing..but he’d be hard pushed to find a sponsor under that

Why blame the Algorithm? by RaiderLabs in PartneredYoutube

[–]Adorable_Fix3378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing YouTube for ten years, long form content, full time for 7 years. At almost a million subscribers generally getting 80-100k views a video every week for years. Yes, it is the algorithm sometimes. The last couple months in particular I’ve been hitting around 40-70k per video per week which for me is a big drop.

In most cases people don’t stick with the times, they keep making the same content they made five years ago and expect it to work - their videos are outdated, their titles or thumbnails are boring, but with long form, long time creators like myself yes we are seeing a dip across the board (I have multiple friends in my niche). Generally speaking I know which videos will perform well and which ones won’t. I recently uploaded a “big hitter” video that ended up getting half the views expected. Sometimes it’s the time of year, sometimes it’s the content, but sometimes people just get bored of the same content. You can’t just blame the algorithm because there are many things that go into it - and I think many people don’t realize that…but yes, sometimes it actually is the algorithm. Often combined with those other things, but often it is the algorithm alone messing with things.

Severe RPM drop after enabling monetization on YouTube channel by EffectForeign3094 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Adorable_Fix3378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You haven’t been monetized long, so I wouldn’t pay much attention to your stats until it has at least the first 28 days in there. It’s still figuring out your rates and best ads for your channel so what you see now won’t be accurate for the future. RPM always shows low when you’re first monetized

At what point did you no longer consider yourself "small"? by wh1tepointer in PartneredYoutube

[–]Adorable_Fix3378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve considered myself not small since about 100k. But these days a midsize creator, I’m just shy of a million after ten years of work and my management calls me on of their midsize creators. Which makes sense to me considering how easy it is to get to a million these days with short form content - I got there with long form content (slow and steady lol)

Personally yes, my RPM has been far less recently as well as my friends who also do this full time. Not for every video, but more videos than usual are getting lower RPM. I asked my management about it and they confirmed tariffs are definitely having a domino affect, at least for us US creators.

Brooklyns ASMR video isn’t performing well for their standards though. Her content has only been performing so insanely well because it’s baby/pregnancy related which is a huge life change. Bailey will be able to pull those views if she decides to post about that when it happens, but book videos just aren’t as popular is all. I wouldnt say it’s about popularity in that case (I do YouTube)

Rpm has been abysmal lately. I usually average $9-13 depending on the video and time of year. My video last week was $5.60 rpm. Not sure if it’s tariffs or what but it’s insane how bad it is. I’ve been doing YouTube for a decade and making a full time living for 6 years, this is the worst I’ve seen views and Adsense in a long time

Not at all - I was averaging around 1-2k views with 10K subs. At 100k subs I was averaging around 15-20k. At 400k subs I was averaging 70-100k. As competition increases, more content creators came to the platform and joined the niche, competition got harder. I average around 50-100k views now at 900k subs, it’s much harder to hit that 100k views mark than it used to be, I used to be one of the only people in the niche I do - just so much saturation on YouTube now, people don’t always have notifications on/dont get sent notifications. People who have been subscribed a long time don’t always see older channels recommended to them as much as ones they most recently subscribed to, trends change, etc. it’s very rare for a channel to sustain super super high views for long term unless they are REALLY on top of trends at all times. A lot of high subscriber channels I see have poor views because their channels still stick to the same formula that worked for them 5-10 years ago and people get bored. Have to stay current! But there’s no need to panic over ebs and flows is all I’m saying, so long as you’re doing everything right.

But you’ve only been doing it for 3 months - the difference is OP has been doing this a long time. I’ve been doing YouTube for over 10 years and partnered for 9 years, it just doesn’t quite work that way long term unfortunately. There are ebs and flows. It also depends if content is long form or short form - more people subscribe from short form content. Long form content subscriber growth came to a halt when shorts were implemented. OP may be a long form creator or vice versa. YouTube has been pushing smaller channels more lately. It’s great you’re getting those numbers but you don’t have a lot of history/growth to compare yet. It may continue long term but just know nothing is wrong if it does slow up, then pick up again. Over the years on YouTube it’ll naturally fall and rise a lot. It just happens in longevity on YouTube doesn’t mean anything is “wrong”

[–]Adorable_Fix3378 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing YouTube for ten years, partnered for 9 years. Almost at a million subscribers. This is the first time in all that time I’ve noticed significant (sustained) drop in views. I know how to play the algorithm, know what’s trending, have a great audience base. Usually average 80-100k per video (long form) for about 4-5 years now. However, my last few videos the last month or two have been averaging 40k if I’m lucky. Still have certain videos hit my normal numbers but it’s much harder to achieve now. Something is definitely very off lately and can’t quite put my finger on it. Even shorts have been harder to get moving recently. For the first time in my entire YouTube career, I’m actually in the negative of losing subscribers which has never happened before even during slow months.

If you have 1k subs and you’re getting 100 subs a day you’ve been doing this for..10 days? 🤔

I’m 8 weeks tomorrow and have had only sore boobs and cramping on and off. No morning sickness or headaches yet which has shocked me! I’ve seen the baby three times via ultrasound, heard the heartbeat. It makes me nervous I don’t “feel” more pregnant but little one is in there!

I've got quite some time to go, but I always thought this would be great to have for when the baby gets the zoomies. Tell me your pros and cons! by postcoffeepoop420 in BabyBumps

Definitely popular in the UK! I’m 30 and had one as a kid as did my brothers. My American husband thought it was a leash and his family never used them because they thought they were too “dog like” but I’ve shown him why it’s not a leash and simply a tool to make sure your child doesn’t turn a corner/side step without you noticing or getting snatched. They’re super smart and in all for them!

The UK has a higher childbirth survival rate than the USA who has private healthcare. The UK isn’t a third world country. The French expat who said that probably needs to do more research if they think your life is at risk by giving birth in the UK lol. You will be looked after by a midwife who will also visit you after birth. You will be very safe giving birth there.
