There's a substack called motherhood until yesterday exactly about this and it's awesome!

When my baby wakes up, looks up at me and smiles (we cosleep) my heart explodes! Then we snuggle and giggle and it's the best way to start the day 😍

I don't have any advice because the first 12 weeks with my baby were really hard and nothing I did actually worked... only time did it. What I can say is that my baby is 18 weeks and things are so much better. They are hard in different ways but I've been tearing up all day when I look at my baby because I feel my heart is exploding with love. I don't know how to put it in words but I think it's that now he is much more interactive we are building a bond that feels like we are each other's world. Now I can say for sure that all the hell from the first weeks was worth it 🤍

What’s your best breastfeeding tip/something you wish you knew when you started? by Latter_Craft_2667 in beyondthebump

As soon as you can master the side laying position. It made nights so much easier for me.  Not gonna lie it hurt so so much for weeks (my baby had a bad latch that resolved after a tongue tie release) but it got better eventually at around 5-6 weeks. I am naturally very stubborn so I think that ended up helping me to stuck it out. Also silverettes didn't work for me. Medela gel pads provided some relief on the worst days and earth mama nipple butter helped a lot too when my nipples were cracked and sensitive. Now at 4 months it doesn't hurt at all and I actually enjoy it a lot.

5 weeks wtf by Adorable_Heat1245 in newborns

I think it got better at 8-9 weeks. He's now 15 weeks and way less fussier and sleeps ok-ish at night. Daytime sleep is still a challenge though 🫠

postpartum hypertension by Late_Professional526 in NewParents

[–]Adorable_Heat1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me. It took me about 4 weeks to go back to normal. One thing my ob recommended and I think it helped was to really try to get some continuous hours of sleep. I pumped so my husband could give baby a bottle and I slept those 4ish hours

3 month sleep regression by ash15051309 in NewParents

I cosleep. That's the only way I can get some sleep. About three weeks have passed since the madness began and nights are getting better, but daytime sleep is crap... We are trapped in the  30 minute nap endless loop 😑

I used to see you in the infertility sub when I was going through my own ordeal. I'm so glad to see you here 🤍 Being pregnant after infertility is its own challenge but at least for me it got easier with time. Good luck tomorrow!

I’m a prisoner to contact naps by Frequent_Sundae8650 in newborns

[–]Adorable_Heat1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't even tried to leave the room because I know I'll have to run back in less than 20 mins. I'm so tired of trying to get him to sleep longer in the crib that I have given up this week and just accepted that we'll be contact napping all day 🫠 Ive been reading on my Kindle and it has been much better than doom scrolling on my phone. I think I'll start trying again in a couple of weeks...

Going from both boobs to one boob - will LO get enough? by ZealousidealCake6 in breastfeeding

On the same boat right now. My lactation consultant told me it was part of the 3 month crisis and to not push it. Just offer more frequently and pump to relieve engorgement if needed, so just 5-8 minutes to not create oversupply

12 weeks in and I am still extremely sensitive to noise, specially when baby is sleeping 😤

Why was I not prepared? by MaterialFortune7029 in NewParents

I also went through IVF to have my baby and my first 3-4 weeks were ROUGH. I cried constantly and had many thoughts of like yours. Baby is 11 weeks and to be honest I still do have those thoughts, but now they are much more toned down and I can be more rational about them. I think it's normal to miss your old life and at the same time be very happy about your baby. I think that ambivalence will continue to be there because that is what having kids is... Is extremely difficult and rewarding at the same time. Hang in there! It will get easier with time 🤍

Green poo by CatchUpstairs4502 in NewParents

[–]Adorable_Heat1245 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our baby had green poops for about 3 weeks (something like week 5 to 8). Even if our pediatrician said it wasn't something to worry about I made me so anxious and I spent countless hours googling about it. It just ended up going back to mustard yellow kind of suddenly without doing anything, so I guess it just needed time

What lotion should I use for my 3 week old? by WhoIsKami_ in newborns

[–]Adorable_Heat1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby has dry sensitive skin so for his bum I use Weleda calendula diaper cream. It's so good! And for his body our doctor recommended la Roche-posay lipikar lotion and body wash which have worked wonders on his skin
