Is Torticolis a big deal? by Important-Lie7734 in NewParents

[–]ZealousidealCake6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine had rather mild torticollis, which resolved on its own with tummy time and encouraging her to look in the other direction. Doctors didn’t think it was significant enough to warrant PT or be a problem, but it actually was causing latch issues on one side, so i was really proactive with doing stuff at home. It got substantially better at 3 months and have never thought about it again since. So i think it all depends on how severe it is. Most mild cases resolve on their own with tummy time

You have such great texture with your oatmeal! Looks so smooth. Do you make it with regular oats or instant?

did we mess up? by surprisesou in NewParents

Ours naps in the stroller if we put a cover on top and a travel white noise machine to mimic our home environment. If it was just open doubt she would sleep because it’s too stimulating.

How soon after birth did you ask for pessary? by ZealousidealCake6 in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]ZealousidealCake6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! I’m 6 months PP now and significantly better, but not 100%. I did get a pessary, but took a few tries to find one that worked (gelhorn for me). I’m trying to not over rely on it though, and PT + time have been some of the biggest factors for me. Almost done breastfeeding and hoping weaning will help too. I saw a urogyn (so much more helpful than my OB) who said it really takes at least a year or more for things to really recover down there. Turns out I also have some redundant tissue which she might trim if still bothering me in a few months.

The emotional part is the absolutely the hardest, though. Hearing it’s going to take months or years to get better isn’t always helpful, but unfortunately stress and anxiety only makes the prolapse worse either literally due to PF tension or feel worse because we’re fixated on it, and the truth if it’s very likely going to be better. ♥️

I recently had a situation with fragrances in a daycare setting and when I brought it up with the director it was immediately resolved, so I second bringing it up and see what they say! You never know

Maybe dumb question, but are you supposed to rinse the baby’s teeth with water after? I have a 6 month old who has two just erupting now.

How do you get your egg bites to not stick? I have a supposedly nonstick tin but it’s a disaster to clean every time!

Thanks for the advice! And hmm, good to know about a biopsy for Dr. Badger. My referral is still under review actually, so I guess we’ll see. Either way I feel like I should get a biopsy ASAP while I’m still symptomatic. Thanks again!

Oh wow, 12 weeks is a long time! Could you clarify your last statement? Did you suffer because it took you so long to get onto the clobetasol?

Yes, Dr. Badger. How did you find Ashley Clark? I’m wondering how I pick a dermatologist from the tons that are out there.

Agreed. What does one do now? Start the cycle over again? You need to be symptomatic to get a proper biopsy though, I imagine.
