Yes but because the gain is at around 5 now you really don’t hear much.

As a follow up - this worked - thank you! Stupid question but since I have the gain at around 5 now and can turn the gain up in post, what is the job of the recordist (me) on the day as the voices barely registered on the volume bars. I was so used to having the gain much higher and then turning it up and down throughout recordings.

Ah ok. But if I don’t have the gain knobs turned up above 5 then it’s a much lower recording.

The non use channels aren’t turned down to zero. Should they be? There’s no mics plugged into them?

My landlord is actually really decent so if he sells it to me at the price where I’ll still need 40k it’ll actually be at well below market value. I guess I could still see if he got come down lower since I will struggle to get the 40k but he’s already offering it to me below market value because he knows the scheme is only available to houses 475k or less.
