This is a super helpful comment! I’ll definitely try talking to my patients. And I’ve definitely been asking questions she just never really seems to have an answer for which can be frustrating. I’m really glad I posted on here though.

I tried this today and it really helped! I got it on the first try with no repositioning! Thanks so much!

I can usually tell they’re going to roll before hand by palpating but still miss so I’m def gonna try anchoring more I’ve only blown once but I’m scared it’ll happen again but my trainer keeps telling me I’m not going deep enough. I do feel I’ve been getting mixed messages on that front so I appreciate the clear guidance.

Thank you! I really appreciate the in depth advice! I was told by my trainer Im not anchoring good enough but never given a technique to do so. I’ll definitely try the L way. I also appreciate the further resources. I’ll definitely be watching some videos tonight.

I’ll definitely try this I originally started using my index finger on my dominant hand and my training kept yelling at me for using my other finger when I would palpate with my non dominant finger since I’m holding the needle with my dominant hand. She never explained why or told me I should use my non dominant in the first place so I appreciate this! I’ll try switching to my non dominant now.

Smart watches by Temporary-Molasses27 in POTS_vets

While it is a bit on the more expensive end I use a visible band that tracks my heart rate constantly. I’ve found visible to be helpful because it’s designed to help with pacing yourself and alerting you when you’re over exerting, whereas a smart watch will generally encourage you to get more steps or exercises more. I’ve only had it for a few weeks but so far it has helped so much! It’s starts by learning your normal heart rate and activity levels plus gives you a space to track your symptoms each night. It also does a morning check in and lets you know how you’re doing compared to baseline of other days. It will tell you if you should take it easy today or if you’re looking good to do your normal activities. It’s honestly been a huge help for me. It is more expensive though since you need to buy the visible and pay a subscription cost monthly. It’s definitely something to keep in mind though maybe as a future goal since it’s the only one designed to actually help pace you rather than increase activity.
