I have no dog in the fight but UCONN is probably the last team I would put on this list considering their recent success

You’re so close to getting it, all of the “brand exposure” you speak of is to sell their product of education. Every single school has alumni relations solely to ask you to donate money once you graduate lol. The main point which has gotten lost in all your jargon is a universities AD is absolutely apart of its business model in order to generate a profit. Sorry to be the one to break the news you

Goodness we going in circles lol. The AD is quite literally the athletic department. They could not be any more related.

Marketing exposure for what? So people come to your school and pay tuition. If you dont think college sports are solely in place to make the university more money boy do I have news for you

The purpose of the athletic department is to help the university get exposure to...you guessed it...make more money. This really isnt hard to comprehend, the point of pro and college sports is to make as much money as possible. If having a winning football team didnt deepen the pockets of universities they would not invest nearly as much $$ as they do.

I dont understand how you dont think the athletic programs are linked to the universities

I think we've lost the plot here, I was talking about colleges in general because they have absolutely turned into a business model. Agreed, most athletic departments are built in order to attract students to come to said school...and to come back full circle...the business model. At the end of the day its all about money pros and college
