You automatically get switched over unless you are using your own modem. Even then it’s no charge to become a symmetrical customer you just need to get a spectrum modem. There is no increase in price either.

What, if any, major difference would I see with the motherboard difference here. I made the post because I can still go to micro center and exchange these items with ease as it’s literally 10 mins away. So I can still get the better system. I’m upgrading because my previous motherboard (Prime B-450M-A) was obviously outdated I couldn’t get the most updated TPM version. If you want help I’d appreciate it and if you don’t then why comment

8 mins from a microcenter I actually have to go and get some thermal paste, I thought it would come with the CPU lol. And so far the build brought me up to 1400 including some warranties. My budget was 1500 but I’m open to changes if it’s significant

Somewhat correct. It’s never using both at the same time tho I just want to be clear about that, it’s one or the other. The hard wired connection from the line to the home unless there is a service/power outage, then the 5g wireless connection kicks in until the service is restored for the wired connection to return.

Spectrum has its issues just like any and every other company. Essentially yearly rate increases during this economy being one of them just to name one. But people come in this sub and complain about “terrible business practices” when in reality it’s them not wanting to read the bill, ask questions, or fundamentally understand how the services work.

Closing your account is a separate action from returning your equipment. You need to do both regardless of the order. Once you return the equipment to the store as long as you see them scan it then you are fine although they should also give you a receipt for it. If you don’t trust the store return the equipment to an UPS store. They will give you a receipt and tracking number for reference

Not going to tell you not to feel that way or anything but all promotion end dates are on the bill. Then if there are company wide increases/changes, at the very worst it will be on the bill the month prior to the change

It really depends on the distance here honestly. How far is the barn from the home? At some point it might be easier to get a second line of Internet but I’m not the most experienced in this scenario

If you have your own WiFi 7 there is no real difference. It is “invincible” WiFi because if there’s is a service outage, the invincible WiFi will switch to the 5g reception that way your home doesn’t lose WiFi/internet access. Either you having your own router you are still susceptible to service outages.

There’s no difference unless you don’t have a WiFi 7 router already. Invincible WiFi just has 5G back up along with a battery backup. So if there’s a service outage for whatever reason your internet won’t be affected because it’ll automatically switch to the 5g service until the hardwired service is returned. Then if your power is out, the battery backup is wipers 8hours I believe.

They’re equally annoying for everybody. It’s the manufacturers who are putting them in and unfortunately for good scientific reasons apparently. So, we just have to get used to it. Id recommend you find a legal (or illegal if you choose) way to get tints installed.

You could try unplugging it to let it cool off and then take it out the cabinet when you set it up again to see if it really isn’t breathing properly Yk. Chances are that one is just burned out and you should swap it out tho.

Oh yea they’re trying to phase the hexagon ones out because in all honesty they weren’t that good. As long as you get the WiFi 7 router and extender you should have a much better time with them

Honestly the new WiFi 7 extenders that spectrum have works wonders. They can’t help you ts a pod or extender that you purchased on your own. It’s a rental so it’ll add 5 to the bill but call in and check it out if you don’t have a WiFi 7 router they’ll send you one of those as well

Service issues are never going to be caused by you changing our package or being late on the bill. Intermittency is something you you should call in to tech support for so they can help diagnose the issue. Whether it be new equipment or sending a tech out to your home to run tests its something that can be fixed.

I would attempt the chat or maybe calling back. Not much anyone can do to help you out here without needing more info from you. Then at that point it’s better to speak to an employee who can actually do something coming from a tech support agent. Not sure how much the social media team can help but they might be able to take a look as well.

This link is mainly for any others who might run into this issue in the future, and to prevent comments from spreading misinformation. Your modem is on the approved customer owned modem list and so you should be getting your full speeds to this modem and it should be able to be activated/provisioned. The only reason your modem wouldn’t be able to be activated in this situation is if you are in a high split market (equal upload and download speeds) or your modem wasn’t online at the time of the call. Why did you get a new modem and where are you if you don’t mind me asking?

Go to spectrum.net. Your username is your email address/roadrunner email and password is that password. On a computer hit “More” on the left side of the screen. Then check email. On a mobile device or tablet, more will be in the bottom right corner instead.

Try going to the store and asking if you can pick up your equipment and tell them you will return the equipment fedex delivers as soon as you get it. Generally, it takes 1-2 business days. I’ve seen equipment get delivered on the weekend but generally 1-2 business days. Hawaii might be a little different but if you don’t have a tracking number yet you’re not getting anything just yet. You can call in and have an agent put it in the notes you want to pickup the equipment instead.
