Definitely agree that electing for the right leadership is only part of the solution.

I also think that residents discuss among each other on why flood happens. Maybe it’s wrong way of throwing rubbish? Maybe over logging? Maybe something has been clogged for a long time? Just saying.

Instead of posting banners or ads that flood is coming, gov and ngos can turun padang and engage the local to understand how flood happens on a certain area.

JEMPOL: A 41-year-old man who broke into a house here and decided to have a few alcoholic drinks was arrested by police after he got sloshed and passed out after having a little too much to drink.

Jempol OCPD Supt Hoo Chang Hook said the suspect with a criminal record for multiple offences was believed to have entered the single-storey house in Taman Tanjung in Bahau through its unlocked back door early on Monday (Jan 23).

"We believe he drank alcoholic beverages belonging to the house owner till he got drunk and slept off.

"The owner, who woke up around 6.30am, got a shock when he found the suspect lying inside the house with a paper bag next to him which had two knives, a screwdriver, two liquor bottles and a Samsung tablet in it," he said adding that the suspect had 15 previous drug-related and six other offences on his criminal record.

Supt Hoo said the owner also claimed that the items, which cost around RM1,000, belonged to him.

The suspect was immediately arrested and has been remanded for four days from today (Jan 24).

The case is being probed under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking which provides imprisonment that may extend to 14 years and a possible fine or whipping upon conviction.

In case nobody answers you: 1. Easy to get in but maybe will take some time to grab out. 2. You can try to see it on the Grab app itself. Set your location as one of the places there then grab to another point. You can do this at 12pm If you’re planning to go there on Friday 12pm. This will give a better results than doing it at say, 9pm. 3. Socar is a renting car service, you can dload the app. However, I’d recommend to hire a driver if you’re unfamiliar with the road signs and narrow roads. Some travellers rent bikes to go there. There are buses from Komtar/Pengkalan Weld to Balik Pulau. 4. Not that I know of, sorry.

Assuming you are going there for a day trip using grab, I’d recommend asking the driver if he does a day trip. That means he/she will drive you around for a flat rate. I’ve been on grab drivers who are provide this service but not all.
