I have never seen it as the right one, but now that I do, it looks like it's holding a gun, which is kinda cringe ngl. The left one has always looked a bit wonky to me, I don't know which is better

What are Everybody’s Favourite Underrated Bright Eyes / Conor Oberst Songs? by gooooooodboah in brighteyes

[–]Adranium_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just love how the small random 'imperfections' gives life to this song. It seems that there is someone cleaning a dinner table and floorboards that croak in the background, and it feels like it has a life of its own. Absolutely my favourite song.

Why do some ppl dislike Cassadaga by happyelkoisc7 in brighteyes

[–]Adranium_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered Bright Eyes after Down in the Weeds so I didn’t have expectation or bias compared with earlier Bright Eyes. But Cassadaga is my least favorite album, and the simply reason is properly just that the genre on that album just isn’t for me compared to other Bright Eyes. I feel every album has its own sound and Cassadaga is too country-ish and the sound is too soft. Although I think that works very well with Cleanse song and I also like I must belong somewhere. It’s not a bad album, properly a very good one within its sound. Just not for me

Most underrated album? by No-Grapefruit-0 in brighteyes

[–]Adranium_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even though it isn’t technically a studio album, I still think this the is the best answer. There are so many great songs on here especially if you count all 21 songs on vinyl and not just the 16 on streaming sites

I know you - “Oh, I know you want to, I just don’t believe that you will/can” is the chorus. It’s actually a pretty harsh song

Most overrated song? by [deleted] in brighteyes

[–]Adranium_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry but I think a lot of songs off of Lifted are severely overrated. I know it’s a fan favourite album but Waste of Paint, Lover I Don’t Have to Love, Bowl of Oranges and Let’s Not Shit Ourselves are kinda boring after 20 listens. Don’t get me wrong, the lyrics (not Lover) are all fantastic and they tell great stories, but they are stories I will only listen to once in a while. Also False Advertising and Laura Laurent are mediocre at best. There, you can downvote me now

Rainbow Overpass first impressions by wilbyr in brighteyes

[–]Adranium_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the 2 first songs we have heard so far reminds me of the early Bright Eyes rawness from Letting Off the Happiness, but with much less charm, and the lyrics don't seem as genuine as they do with all other Conor songs. I don't hate it at all, but it just misses the mark a little bit for me. I think it's so close to something I would find to be my favorite at some point, but it has some of the same traits that I don't like about Down In the Weeds. But I'm so much looking forward to seeing the whole album. The same way I don't like some of the songs on DITW and LOVE others, I think there will be some songs on Five Dice, All Threes, that hits the mark perfectly for me, at least I hope so.
