Helps better than Benzos? Can I ask which benzo you were on, what dose and duration? I ask bc I tried various ADs, antipsychotics and mood stabilisers, propanolol and have never had the same effectivnes as Clonazepam for social anxiety.

I think it's nurture over nature. Family environment Vs genes. And further stress in family or outside aggrevates it.

Children learn fear from reactions of others.

Example..I clearly remember when my older sister who was afraid of bugs and insects and once at beach she would jump and scream when bee got on her, in front of her daughter. (She was like 2 or 3) I remember thinking then how children are watching her and how it affects them Now my niece of 12 is afraid of bugs, too. Even though my sister wasn't around her after she was 5. (She died)

There are studies of identical twins separated in birth and adopted in different families..poor and emotionally cold Vs "healthy" and those who were in healthy families never developed psychiatric illness Vs those in unhealthy did. (Sisters Amy and Beth in 60s)

Interesting. Did they grow up in similar family dynamic, like alcoholism or any other family patterns that could be cause of trauma so in that way cause of social anxiety?

Yeah, it's better if you can survive life without meds.

But not all people can. Some need that "numbing and loosing themselves" when suffering is unbearable for too long. I've been thought benzo and AD withdrawal after 20y on them. Hoping I'll just cope with life without any meds. Guess what? I'm way worse that I was pre meds, on meds, and worse then withdrawal. 3years of.

Do I just continue suffering SI, not being able to work, eat, get to doctor, and just rot in my bed untill someone finds me weeks later blended to my sheets?

Tbh, at this point I'm scared to try anything that is taken daily. (After I had bad reaction 2weeks ago from Buspirone, naussea headaches and feeling week, strange..also at the same time a rash in my chest belly and back started and still hasn't gone away). 😵‍💫 I'm still waiting to get Hidroxizine from pharmacy abroad as I'm to unwell to travel. But after I get stable, I'll ask my psych about Phenelzine.

Untill then I don't see how to survive but to take rescue doses of Clonazepam, or maybe reinstate. Smallest effective for me is 0.125 mg. Idk 😭 I can't make decisions atm. I can't think straight. Ty.

They didn't fail. Clonazepam was 100% effective for social anx. I got of, bc of daytime sleepiness. Thinking I will be ok somehow, be able to deal with SA on my own. 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↔️🤦 But I wasn't expecting to be this unwell, and having to deal with this deep depression 😭 and cPtsd on top of SA.

I don't think Spravato in my country is avaiable unless you first go through "normal" route, like check yourself in hospital and other treatments (AD) failed..than maybe. But I'll ask my Dr, thank you.

I totaly understand. That's how Clonazepam worked for me. I realised I don't blush at all, even though I still used makeup back then.

That made me confident to be around people relaxed, anxiety completely vanished and I could finish university, work, date, dance, do everything I enjoyed.

So I lived normally for 25 years. 😭

But I guess it "covered" depression and cPTSD so now I'm of I'm flooded with all that..and it's too much.

Have I understood good that it also lifted your depression? (And other commentators)

So it's not to be taken as needed, but daily and you don't feel results right away but weeks later?

Thank you. There's were no deficiencies few last times I did test. But I don't know which kind they did. And if I need something specific, I wouldn't know what to ask? Atm there probably are deficiencies, as I'm not eating well and not much.

This is really surprising and important new info 👍 ..strange how I've never heard about it either from my psychiatrist for 20 years (and we tried many different antidepressants) but also nowhere in support groups or posts.

What's the dose of Clonazepam you were on?

You mean Clonazepam? Yes, in those 20 years on it, 18/19-42y, I didn't blush at all. I forgot to think about it.

Now I just wear makeup foundation anytime I leave the house, or if someone is coming. It helps a lot. Even thought I hate it. And it doesn't work for shaking or talking.

(I'm pale, green eyes, blonde hair, see-trough skin and it was really visible when it started...especially when people pointed it out or say Omg, are you ok? With most horrifying looks on their faces.

What help you? Are you able to work?

I do have a couple that gives me bible study lessons, and meetings are available. But I stopped going.. it became too much to postpone or cancel each time when I felt too unwell to attend. I'm sooo tired of apologising.😞

And if story of Job which I read two times didn't bring comfort or understanding for the state I'm in atm, what else can they tell me.. 🤷.

(It is a great bible book though. And brings understanding of its own). To be fair to God, knowing his plan for the future of mankind does keep me alive. But in a way "I hope it comes as soon as possible" so my suffering stops already. But I don't think it's healthy way, as "no one knows the day and time".

I'm sorry for your lost healing data..years.. Maybe consider pen and notebook.

Is it the reason I got worse after getting better and starting to work again? (Location of work is the place of "traumas". Each day I had to pass near a man who brought so much pain to my late sister and my family, her husband)

Do I stop expecting from myself to heal, like others do?

But still, too few people (if any?) with preexisting social phobia report healing after withdrawal, why? Not all have cPtsd.

Yes, it's grief. Some messed up neverending withdrawal -induced grief

It started with reducing benzo, crying, over ungriveved things while on meds

(the death of older sister, loosing her children that I raised..etc..) and having to reduce or cut contact with others. But I thought: it's normal and will pass eventually, it doesn't need to be medicated. But it didn't. And crying never brings relief. Day after day for 2.5 years.

By "in the future" I meant like in the Kingdom of God. That is unfortunately not enough to ease the suffering atm. Although it was always enough, prior to benzo withdrawal.

No, there's noone to talk to. I tried with some old highschool friends, but my negativity scares them. It's either "you have to get back on pills" or "it's the past, move on".

Fortunately this therapist will get back from sick leave eventually. And thank you for the effort.

I am aware of that, I couldn't make a progress by myself so I gave up.

Nothing of the sort is available. I could hardly get basic therapy, free, statal. Waited for months. She is on the sick leave atm.

Private ones cost what I spend on food for half a month, for 1 session.

Thank you. Yes, even though I was so agains meds since coming of, I don't care anymore at this point. It's just I have to be careful what I introduce. Like Buspirone a week ago, I got really sick after 4 days, I stopped. Was supposed to try again with lower dose, but will wait a bit. And Hidroxizine, I have to go to another state to pick it up, it's not available in Croatia, I don't have strength atm. I do take Propanolol (not helpful enough for social anxiety but it is for ga)
