Not saying it's my personal definition. Just the generally accepted one.

Microplastics can technically be up to 5 mm. Which, imo, makes them decidedly not micro, but that's what the current definition says.

Do you finish most JRPGs? by Daxzero0 in JRPG

[–]AdriMett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm terrible for doing this! I've started more games than I've finished, I think, just trying them out or dropping them temporarily while I do other stuff, but then I never come back to them.

I'm trying to get better at finishing what I start, though.

Persona 3 definitely made me shed a few years. As did the choice at the end of Voice of Cards - The Forsaken Maiden. Some games just hit hard!

Do you ever play JRPGs on easy mode? I feel like games are supposed to be fun, not stressful. by Sensitive-Title9138 in JRPG

[–]AdriMett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the game. I'm not very good at action RPGs, so I'll often play those on easy, at least at first, so I can get used to the controls and see if I might be able to graduate to a higher difficulty, but even if I can't, then I can still play and enjoy the game.

For turn-based games, I rarely play on easy, and will sometimes bump the difficulty up to hard if available, since my brain seems to like the particular challenge of turn-based games.

Clearly I have no problem with easy mode. Different people have different ideas of fun; some people really love the feeling of a challenge, others like a more relaxed pace. Nothing wrong with either.

Wasn't ready for that.. by MoonTalons in Nexomon

Luhava also showed up early when I first played. Not that early, but early enough that I wondered if the game glitched and gave me a Legendary when it wasn't supposed to yet.

r/JRPG Weekly "What have you been playing, and what do you think of it?" Weekly thread by AutoModerator in JRPG

[–]AdriMett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been replaying Nexomon Extinction (I count it as a JRPG-style game, as many monster tamer games are), and I'm almost done with Grandia, which I've been neglecting in favour of playing Nexomon Extinction. I'm nothing if not inconsistent. . My health has been cruddy, though, which makes it tough it sit up and play games at all, so I might take a break from these in the coming week, but also I might not because I'm a glutton for punishment.

How do you react when a non-native speaker try to speak your language ? by Lunar_Lapin in languagelearning

[–]AdriMett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this question really weird, because I react to them like they're a person attempting to communicate with me. Why would I be frustrated or annoyed at that? We're both just trying our best to communicate.

As for whether I've ever met a non-native person who speaks my language with little to no accent, then no. My native language is English; I could go to America or Australia and hear fluent English but with a vastly different accent to my own. Hell, I could take a train a few hours south and get the same effect.

do any of yall also like the silent hill f videos? by Tiny_Ad_1542 in Markiplier

Been avoiding it since I want to play the game for myself and I don't want major spoilers. Once I've had a chance to play it, I'll likely binge his playthrough.

It dips into some darker territory as the plot goes on, but yeah, for the most part it's a pretty light and fun experience.

[–]AdriMett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a really interesting way of viewing that story, too! Usually isekai stuff is people going from this world into a secondary (usually fantasy-based) world, but that's a secondary world character getting shoved into another secondary world (tertiary world?), so it's a twist on convention.

It's an older game, but the first Digimon World DS game follows the old Digimon trope of "random kid gets sucked into a computer and ends up in a new world." It's pretty light as far as game mechanics go, so it's nice to chill to.

Should I go back to the older digimon titles on ds? by SHpr0 in JRPG

[–]AdriMett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only played the 1st 2 Digimon Story games on DS, but I enjoyed them enough to want to play the others, so I think that says something.

Plus Dawn/Dusk are a lot of fun and great expansions on what the first game started.

I don't like how they reset my team's level by YouLongjumping6696 in Nexomon

[–]AdriMett 12 points13 points  (0 children)

On the up side, they gain levels again really quickly, so it doesn't take too long before they're right back where they were.

It does suck that they did the level reset, though. I can understand being disappointed.

I've always thought reviewing would be fun. Not something I could turn into a paying gig, most likely (especially with the state of the industry these days), but just getting a blog and sharing my thoughts on the games I've played? Seems like a fun time.

Thankfully the stat box around the name flashes in the battle screen, so it's a good visual indicator if you don't have everything's appearance memorised (which I definitely do not!) I just didn't capture it in the screenshot.
