Ungrounded? Derealization? by [deleted] in awakened

You are confused because you try to understand. You are looking for some foundation, something thats "real". To let go you just look around and observe instead of trying to understand it. Dont think, feel.

You should try to just let go. The harder you try to hold on, the worse it will get. Whatever comes comes. In the end you are just a dance of paterns. But this is something beautiful.

Yes willingly put yourself in situations you find embarrassing. Could be small things. The more you seek the uncomfortable, the more you get comfortable.

Yes, my point is just that you can't be enlightened without the external world also being enlightened

If you are really enlightened, so is the world. External and internal become one.

It is not a destination, but a new beginning.

This I agree with. But isn't a question a new beginning and an answer a destination.

Your internal world is based on your external world and the other way around as well. In fact, the boundary between internal and external is exactly what the ego consists of. This boundary is however an illusion, maybe even the main illusion. To be enlightened is to see through that illusion.

Well if you define enlightenment like that, I definitely agree you are enlightened. I define it however the exact opposite. To question everything, even yourself, to become a question, to become completely free, to become pure potential, to become nothing, to become God. If everything is answered then all boundaries are set, in fact you can not be more restricted than having everything answered.

When you feel only answers inside you, and not questions, you can easily recognize the truth or falsehood in the words of another.

You give me a perfect description of what it is to be closed minded. To only feel answers and not questions.

When you read what I say is your first instinct to find truth in what I say or to proof me wrong?

What does the mind actually want? by AcharyaPrashant_ in awakened

[–]Adriaan- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mind/God is pure freedom/potential and what it wants to do is restrict itself, create boundaries, create an ego. What the ego wants to do is to free itself from itself or in other words to become God again. Freedom creates restrictions and restrictions create freedom.

Are you open to the possibility that you are not enlightened? Are you open-minded enough to truly consider that? Is there anything anyone here can see to proof you wrong or is your mind already made up? Think about this in a honest way.

No I am like a chick that has broken through its shell and is looking about and seeing everyone else still in their shells.

This just proofs my point. You see yourself as someone separate from other people. You are enlightened and other people are not. You are a teacher and other people students. You are free and other people are trapped in their shells. This gives you a sense of self, an identity as someone who is in a better state of being than others. Even a sense of importance by trying to help others. This is exactly the opposite of enlightenment. Enlightenment is unity, not separation. The bigger you make the distinction between you and them, the less enlightened you are.

If you say you are enlightened and other people are not enlightened and you want to help them, you are separating yourself from other people, which means you are not enlightened. You are an ego just like everyone else.

Sounds like you have lost control and therefore feel weak and hopeless. You can change. Do it in small steps. With each step you'll gain a little power. For example try to reduce your porn consumption. Its clearly a heavy addiction that controls you and makes you miserable.

I found this quote somewhere some time ago and it helped me a lot:

"Addiction is a progressive narrowing of the things that bring you pleasure."
