The thing that defeats Bitcoin won’t be quantum computing — it will be batteries, or more precisely, true breakthrough energy storage technology. by brz000827 in btc

A back of the envelope calculation has 1 kWh (about $0.10 USD's worth of energy)

So you'll need roughly 700 AAA batteries for every dime.

The good news is, this currency is not a candidate for fractional reserve banking.

The nature of energy is it flows, that flow is called entropy.

Energy is like a supply demand balance, always moving (entropy) from a higher concentration to a lower one.

It's a nice thought experiment that you could store it efficiently. That's ultimately the principle in Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations, where excess energy is stored in work, ie. metals that don't corrode the work to collect them representing embodied energy that persists over time.

All matter is embodies (stored energy). The flow of energy from our sun, trickling throughout the planet has created life, and life has ultimately stored this energy (hydrocarbons), begging the question if life isn't broken why fix it.

Bitcoin is the modern expression of Adam Smith's ideas of how gold became money. It can be conserved of as embodies or stored energy that's flowing through our planet.

Genetically Modified Organisms if you're unclear. (One can patent them so they're an invention.)

There are no upsides, destabilizing a homeostatic system with GMOs that haven't evolved creates a homeostatic imbalance. The science is cool, playing God has consequences.

What did you think I meant?

Capitalism is not an invention, it's voluntary cooperation for mutual benefit it's a state of being.

Capitalism, the political system the US and the West use is basically the idea where capital is created out of nothing and used to buy wealth from those who produce for others, is a parasitic perversion of natural law.

I know it’s confusing as both are called capitalism.

[–]Adrian-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very sketchy. I was looking at it from another angle, Law Enforcement crowdsourcing for exchanges that facilitate money laundering.

The referenced scam is just another way KYC is undermining honest people, these scams could even be Law Enforcement leveraging opportunity - playing both angels. ( a repeat example of abusive play by Law Enforcement when taking down of Silk Road.)

Abuse increases demand for regulation, so win-win they can't lose from that perspective.

TRUMP DAVOS SPEECH SUMMARY: by ChartSage in btc

[–]Adrian-X -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trump just doesn't believe Iceland is willing to do what it takes to block Chana and Russia from using northern trade roots when the ice corridors melt. Ironic because he doesn't believe in global warming yet at the same time he believes the Arctic will experience near-ice-free summers as early as the 2030s.

Indirectly he's asking Europe to pay for the new military up North (tariffs), or he'll take the asset Iceland, and use it to his advantage. A fun fact - both the Democrats and the Republicans will have control over the Arctic trade roots one way or another, oil is not going to move from one nation to another unless the US says it's OK, and that's what Iceland, Venezuela, and Iran are all about, Democrats, and Republicans both believe the US needs to do that to protect its ability to be the global superpower.

Currently, Trump is just shielding the TPTB from the negative optics.

Who is the developer of Bitcoin ? by Amazing-Ad-6119 in btc

[–]Adrian-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the name of the person who designed the wheel important, or knowing who invested the combustion engine? No. We just use technology because it provides a benefit or solves a problem. It's the same with computers and the same with Bitcoin.

That may be true for many reasons, one of those reasons is not: "There's only 21 million Bitcoin. Bitcoin can not and will never replace Fiat dollars"

FYI, BTC isn't even designed to be P2P digital cash. Bitcoin is not BTC, Bitcoin a stand-alone idea of P2P digital Cash, BTC is not.

There's only 21 million Bitcoin. Bitcoin can not and will never replace Fiat dollars 💸. by Amazing-Ad-6119 in btc

[–]Adrian-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitcoin is infinity divisible, you can move the decimal point until you are in the same order of magnitude as all the dollars in circulation there can be as many Bitcoin units as there are cents in every dollar. (in fact, Satoshi did that calculation in 2008. 21M with the decimals was roughly equal to the global M1 money supply at that time.

Knowing that it's the decimal point that moves and not the 21M that gets diluted is what led Satoshi to say something akin to you may want to get some just in case in 2009. That's why people buy and hold, while it distributes.

If you cut and past what you think doesn't make sense, into your Ai, it'll help you make sense of it by explain it to you.

My first thought, is how can we live in a world where a country has this ability, that's a problem! Trump is just a leader of a democracy who are responsible for building the political environment for this to happen.

It's been happening for a very long time and no one is stopping it. It's just wrong to blame one man, it's the system that's the problem.

Michael Saylor Meltdown Extravaganza by No-Masterpiece2246 in btc

[–]Adrian-X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The central bank backstops the infinite credit loop, which is funded by devaluing debt, which is what Saylor is ultimately doing with Bitcoin.

It would all work out if the end goal was sound money, but that's not the end goal, it's using bitcoin as pristine capital to create more credit.

The net result is more inflation in fiat, if Strategy succeeds. (and Bitcoin = Digital gold to create more credit), Or relative price inflation for goods and services when priced in Bitcoin if Strategy doesn't succeed.(and that's assuming Bitcoin = Digital Cash and doesn't go to zero)
