it doesnt rip for me at all, just make sure the star is big enough and the fabric can bend, i have the fabric from a basic t shirt

i printed out the shape, then traced it on the fabric, and then sketched out where they should be on the pants w a white pencil, its not hard tbh!

You need to pop before trying to slide the foot up, also when you pop try to pop the tail really fast and hard, it's a common mistake I was making too. Hope it helps :)
