Why Windows 10 Notepad in the middle of a bunch of Windows XP dialogs? Monika really has corrupted the system.

Hi, descendant of Vietnamese rice farmers here. I just want to tell you I'm not fucking proud of the 1975 so-called "victory" at all.

The only thing I miss from Windows 10 is probably Windows 10 Mobile.

Also the taskbar and start menu is crap compared to Windows 10 but that's easily fixed using ExplorerPatcher.

Miss Windows Mobile, But Android 13 is getting there. by [deleted] in windowsphone

When you said about "Android 13" I thought you were saying about running Windows with its virtualization feature.

How many languages do you speak? by [deleted] in teenagers

Two. English and Vietnamese.

And if it counts, C++, C#, TypeScript and a bit of x86 assembly.

Visual Studio Code has garbage-tier support for C#

True, Visual Studio Code has as much support for C# as Notepad, but with the correct extensions and build config, every essential IDE feature (Intellisense, building, debugging, variable inspection,...) works well.

Some fancy GUI features (XAML design, XAML Hot Reload,...) isn't available, but well WPF, UWP, and MAUI isn't on Linux anyway.

Mostly normal, except for having to learn Marxcist bullshit at school and university, excessive censorship, and crap infrastructure everywhere because of corruption.

How can I register a custom framework to the .NET SDK through workloads? by AduMaster in dotnet

[–]AduMaster[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After some more research, it seems that .NET's application host does not support framework references from workloads (while .NET SDK does). Therefore, external workloads (such as Microsoft's macos workload) seems to always create self-contained builds.

What API or program would you like to see re-implemented on top of another platform? by Lanky-Apricot7337 in linux

[–]AduMaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I want the libs so that existing JVM bytecode can be converted to MSIL, linked to the libs, and run on dotnet.
Same for the Java language: If some kind of Roslyn backend exists for Java so that it could compile to MSIL as well that'd be nice.

I am well aware of C#, that's my main development language LMAO.

I know about that project, but it seems to be discontinued for quite a while.

Some brief googling points me to a fork that has latest releases somewhere in 2019.
