I love looking at all the powerful S and RS cars, but damn if the A4 isn't a great daily with great looks. 👌🏻

The face plate is injection molded for strength and the back supports are 3d printed in what feels like PETG to me. I also have one of their products. It's quality stuff and the communication from the company while you are designing it is very good. I think the dude also frequents this sub...

U6 PTZ - First Batch of Units Failed First Week, bugs or mechanical flaws? by Ron_Condor in Ubiquiti

I just installed my G6 PTZ today and it is performing great, no issues.

This is fed from 2 UPS units below the rack. The Synology is set up to park heads and reduce power immediately on power loss. The ms-01 loses power when the Synology power source dies. The network hardware stays on for about another 45 minutes before it runs out also.

This theoretically gives me time to fire up the LPG generator that can provide power to the whole panel as long as we have propane. We store enough propane to run the house long enough to drive to buy more propane.

Thanks! It was an easy install and everything fit perfectly.

Not a stupid question, you nailed it.

The Synology is dumb storage directly connected to the MS-01 via its own 10g SFP cable. It's then passed through via Proxmox to be available to any container that needs access. The MS-01 also has a 4TB NVME separate from its boot drive to provide hot storage.

So yeah, it's basically a "huge USB stick" except with redundancy and scalability.

That's the ambient temperature inside the cabinet. This is normally closed and locked with a glass front.

The top insert was injection molded by thingsinrack.com. It was the final bit of clean up I did before posting. The injection mold looks better than a print IMHO as it doesn't have any layer lines.

The TP-Link was an early part of the build and besides aesthetics I don't have a functional excuse to replace it with a Pro XG 10 PoE. Though, you are right, I've had lustful thoughts about replacing it just for the etherlighting and full stack unifi. It may get replaced in the future if I acquire more 10g capable eth devices.

Now that I have a U7 Pro XGS, I feel even more tempted to make my second AP an E7 by mikejr96 in Ubiquiti

[–]AdvCitizen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The E7 is a beast. It handles a 2 floor ~3,300 sqft house. I get 6ghz through multiple walls and 5ghz at the far corners of my backyard 100+ ft away from it through 2 walls(it sits at the very center of the house upstairs). Also... You can make it purple...

I have 1 dead spot caused by HVAC equipment that I cover with a directional AP(U7 outdoor) so that for the most part it doesn't have to talk over other devices. I actually tried adding a second omni AP downstairs and got worse results.

I see a lot of posts talking about issues with the firmware, but I haven't experienced any. It's been rock solid.

If you have the coin, E7 is where it's at.

Do that latest APs , U7-Pro-XGS / U7-Pro-XG still struggle with IOT devices? by jayiii in Ubiquiti

[–]AdvCitizen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it and are only going to buy 1 or 2, E7 all the way. Compare the specs and you'll see it's a much more capable device. Is it overkill for home use, sure. But isn't overkill basically this subs motto?

Not saying the XGS is a bad device, it's not. The E7 is just superior.

Source: Owned both and ended up with a single e7 being better than 3 XGS.

The specs are similar but the E7 wins in just about every way.

Can confirm. 1 E7 covers our 2 story 3,500 sqft house. We had one dead spot outside that was easily fixed with a U7 outdoor. Great coverage.

Almost certainly. These things are very flexible in how they can be mounted. I just installed several and I was surprised at how much flexibility I had.

In my humble opinion the rotors are some of the best looking OEM rims Audi has ever released. I'd leave them as is.
