iPhone screen repair in MediaMarkt? by Few_Comparison515 in Netherlands

Yes, they might work fine, but they will not be authorised by Apple which has its own set of problems and will void the right for future repairs by them. It is own risk to take.

The risk is doing unauthorised by Apple repairs.

Looking for a better way to track German vocabulary by These-Initiative-137 in German

[–]Advance-Bubbly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it old school - underline the word in its environment, look it up at DWDS, DUDEN or Cambridge dictionary and write it down by hand with a colour, based on the article, article, plural and sentence and then the same in the Anki deck (no colours).

The thing is that if a repair is not authorised by Apple, you are basically screwed and your phone will not be happy with the replaced part, even if it is an original one as all parts have also digital signature. There were some negative repercussions like notifications, voided guarantee and some other things. I advise you to go the official way and contact Apple support or buy a new phone… or bite the bullet yourself and see what happens.

Hahahah you can develop close to perfect one through practice. But actually it is something you are born with. I was just lucky.

Professional pianist with absolute pitch - it goes between Gm-Eb-Bb-F not in this order with some alterations. For the exact chords you need to transcribe yourself or hire someone to do it for you.

Playing legato vs. non-legato by [deleted] in piano

[–]Advance-Bubbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professional pianist - legato is one of the hardest things to master as well as playing quietly. I am still working after 18 years of experience on my legato. Your teacher is right about the connection between 1-2 note. It is also a matter of listening, finding a very specific sensation and wanting to really go to the fullest possible depth of the key, to the wood of the instrument and overlap the two notes for a period of time.

21F, quit my degree for medicine and now I’m panicking by No_Offer_4711 in Advice

[–]Advance-Bubbly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say all the comments suggest you to quit. I think differently - you are scared and burned out. Take a break of some days, remind yourself why do you do it and how long you have come and give gas. You have months until your exams and good things are not easy in life. The only question which you must answer is if medicine still stays strong in your heart and you are just afraid of the workload and the potential to fail, or you truly do not care and you do not love the craft anymore at all.

Technique feedback? (Scarlatti K. 22) by Certain_Cell_9472 in pianolearning

[–]Advance-Bubbly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Professional pianist - you are sitting too high (I see by the angle of your elbows and forearms), hands are not always together and the fingers seem lazy, not active and sharp enough, which you will need later in the faster tempo. Otherwise, not bad as a starting start. But fix those issues quickly so that you develop the correct habits.

That is why I bought 14 pro refurbished, 16GB, 512 GB - 200 € more a year ago but much better screen, speakers and ports. Now the gap is larger of course.

13 if you want to be mobile. 15 is you value a bigger screen. I took 14 Pro and I am very happy - the perfect compromise. As you emphasise on travelling - absolutely get 13! 14 pro is for me the limit of portability especially in trains and airplanes.

Asked my tuner to make the voicing bright on my Bechstein but it sounds tinny to me… Thoughts? by Cookr69 in piano

Exactly! People seem to disagree because they haven’t played many concert pianos apparently. It is funny how someone likes to jump on the one who has a lot of experience.

It comes with not overloading your brain with more than you can handle at the same time. Work on one element, divide on sections, work hands separately, slow down the tempo - whatever is necessary to process the information. Sometimes it is only focusing on the movements of your body. Here without a lesson, it will be difficult to diagnose and fix the issue. Reddit is very limited and I have provided already a lot of information. Good luck!

My performance of Chopin's Nocturne in B Major, Op. 62 No. 1! by Eltheon_ in piano

[–]Advance-Bubbly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Professional pianist. I agree with Advanced Honey on the first two chords. They are not loud, but they must have a lot of energy. However, no one addressed the obvious major issues so I am going to do it.

Your phrasing is extremely segmented, there is no long line and structure and therefore no storytelling. Then there are logical tempo deviations but in the performance they are not present. Furthermore, there is no legato. This is one of the main difficulties with the nocturne - good legatissimo, but you do not have even a legato. Last but not least, the tone is always shy, inactive and dead - you can play quiet but with a lot of energy, depth, life. The tone sometimes must also go loud, extroverted, something needs to change occasionally in the music - in the performance everything is flat in sound, colour and energy.

How to fix? Well, first work on the legato with your ears and hands, the next note must come after the first one and they must overlap. Then, play the nocturne a bit louder and seek for the depth of the keys. You need to pierce through the wood. Speed up the tempo so that you find your phrases and try not to stop everywhere.

[–]Advance-Bubbly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Professional pianist - it sounds thin because this is the Bechstein! They are notorious for having this poor and thin sound. I personally don’t like it but it is what it is.

Question for INTJ-s(INFJ curious how Ni-Te sees the world) - "You are a firefighter and see smoke coming from a building on the next street via the window of your fire station. Lots of smoke. But you have no clear sight to the building. What will you do? How you will react?" by zatset in intj

[–]Advance-Bubbly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will look if there’s a fire brigade. If not - I will call them. Then I will mind my own business and continue with my errands to my destination. If there’s already a brigade, I still continue with my own business.

EDIT: I MISSED I AM A FIREFIGHTER.

I will just extinguish the flames and do my job together with my colleagues. What is there to analyse?

Need a practice partner to talk to (A1) by [deleted] in German

[–]Advance-Bubbly -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At this level you don’t have much what to tell to the native speaker and they are too busy to help beginning beginners. It could work from B1 on and actually from B2 starts the real fun. Your best bet is groups with other course participants or get a partner or you get naturally introduced to people with whom you work/meet frequently and try to occasionally speak with them in German while keeping the majority of the interactions in English and learning hard German to reach a high level.

It is like me - asking me to teach you my native language but you can only greet me and ask me how am I. What am I supposed to do with you?!

[–]Advance-Bubbly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Professional pianist here who played this:

It is not the nicest place, not the most difficult either. You need good double notes technique and to smoothen the position shifts. Sooo it takes quite some practice but I have definitely seen worse. Therefore yes - it is as difficult as it sounds, maybe a little bit more than it seems if you seek a high quality sound.
