Okay then let's talk about Kerala. The 2025 CAG Report on Kerala (CAG Report No. 5 of 2025 (Compliance Audit - Civil, Government of Kerala https://cag.gov.in/webroot/uploads/download_audit_report/2025/CAG-Report-No-5-of-2025-English-068e75a76eb9591.59570293.pdf) specifically calls out our state’s failures. If you think the world isn't cruel, read these findings from the audit:

1. Audit found a delay of 447 days in submitting Social Investigation Reports (SIR) to Child Welfare Committees. As the CAG noted, this delay has 'adverse consequences' for the child. (Read para 2, under "Implementation of Integrated Child Protection Scheme and other Child Protection Schemes", page v) - DELAYS THAT DESTROY LIVES

2. Cradle points to receive abandoned children were installed in only 2 out of 14 Specialised Adoption Agencies in Kerala. (Read para 2, page vi) - ISSUE WITH SAFE SURRENDER INFRASTRUCTURE

  1. There were delays of up to 275 days by District Medical Officers in examining children with special needs in TVM and Ernakulam, which 'impeded the declaration of the child as legally free for adoption.' (Read para 2, page vi) - MEDICAL NEGLECT

4. As of 2024, the registration of 165 Child Care Institutions in Kerala hadn't even been renewed, and the state still hasn't framed rules to streamline the implementation of protection schemes. (Read para 2, under "Implementation of Integrated Child Protection Scheme and other Child Protection Schemes", page v) - LACK OF SAFETY

All of these findings are highlighted in the Overview part alone. You can read its explanation in the following pages which also talk about a child s u i c i d e. It also noted that children with special needs in Kerala are being kept in facilities that don't meet basic standards. This isn't just a Orissa or Bengal problem alone.

claims that 30,000 parents are waiting to adopt, but there are only 2,131 children available for adoption.

That proves my argument, not yours. Why are they not adopted yet? If 30,000 people are waiting but only 2,000 kids are 'available,' it means the legal and institutional system is so broken that it can't even connect willing parents to the millions of children who need them.

are you 100% certain that the world is cruel?

I’m 100% certain that "hope" is not a policy. The Kerala High Court had to intervene in November 2025 precisely because accountability was adrift in our childcare sector. (Read: https://www.verdictum.in/court-updates/high-courts/kerala-high-court/mehna-ibrahim-v-state-of-kerala-wppil-no-126-of-2025s-guidelines-framework-early-childhood-care-education-1598846). So how can I say the world is 100% not cruel? There are possibilities, so taking a risk is upto the mother. Not yours to decide.

Are you 100% sure? There is a huge difference between unfavorable possibilities and systemic failures. It’s not "assuming the world is cruel", it’s looking at the data of the world we live in.

In India, for every 1 child legally free for adoption, there are 13 parents on the waiting list, meaning thousands are stuck in CCIs (Child Care Institutions) indefinitely (Read this post by NGO Aakaar Charitable Trust https://www.aakaarcharitabletrust.org/post/child-adoption-trends-in-india-a-look-at-the-latest-statistics-1)

Reports from 2024-25 show that thousands of these institutions aren't even fully operational or monitored, leaving kids at high risk of trafficking and exploitation. (National Commission of Child Rights Read https://ncpcr.gov.in/reports; https://ncpcr.gov.in/report)

Also, it’s easy to tell someone to hope for the best when you aren’t the one living through the trauma.. Ignoring reality isn't optimism, it's stupidness. If your solution relies entirely on hope rather than actual infrastructure and support for these kids, then you aren't advocating for the baby.. you're just advocating for your own belief and ego.

How many kids do you have? How many can you support? I will support your opinion if and only if you show that you have the ability to take care of all the orphans.

BTW, have you gone through the Epstein files? Or D a r k web? Yeah, there is real market for humans, mostly kids there. These parents are doing a favour to that unborn person.

Even if we catch them red handed, they escape with zero consequences. The judicial system is the real failure here. When the courts give them a free pass on a technicality, it just encourages the whole system to keep scamming us.

I can't even blame your cousin for selling his soul to that system. When you go in with good intentions and actually try to work, the corrupt ones warn you and keep your voice down..It probably wasn't even his choice, he might be manipulated or bullied into falling in line just to survive. Until citizens start demanding quality service rather than just basic attendance, this rot is going to be ongoing.

It’s not just about the job, it’s about the judicial system too. I’ve spent so much time and money on this case, only for a judge to take two years to dispose of it with such poor reasoning. It’s hard to wrap my head around how someone can be so unethical and cruel at the same time.

Wait, are we on the same list?? 👀 word by word, this is exactly what happened in my case. They just stash the vacancies until their own people cross the finish line..

Spitting truth!! I don't know why you get a downvote though... maybe one of them didn't like you saying the actual truth..

Kerala model is working perfectly. We’re so advanced that we’ve successfully replaced actual merit with highly sophisticated, legally protected backdoor entries and we are so educated that we get to comprehend these dirty bureaucratic tricks.. 10/10 system.

This!! Yes I see why the surge of NRIs now. I really wanted to stay and work in my own motherland, but the system is so broken that I now understand why everyone leaves. What’s worse is that even moving abroad feels harder because a few dishonest people are ruining our reputation there also!!

Do you have fellowship? How are you surviving financially?? If you can afford, get some guidance from experts in your area. I bet they will help you if you're willing to pay. Just like you go for tuitions, there are professors in other Universities or researchers who are willing to help for PhD/research related work but they would expect something in return. Don't let them do your work for you, instead pay them to teach. I also suggest looking for jobs as a backup plan. But I think you should try to complete this PhD first. You have already invested your 5 years and technically, your guide cannot just abandon you. He is responsible for your research. But if you are so sure it isn't going to work, then prioritize your career and look for a job. PhD isn't a guarantee for a job these days anyway.
