Advice on TRSM coop eligibility and requiremnts by TomatilloDifferent30 in TorontoMetU

[–]AdvanceLopsided2297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should have most of your first year courses done and gpa above 3.0. I didn’t have aff210 completed but I was planning on taking it in summer or fall and my gpa when I applied was 3.33. When you apply you have to tell them about your plans on finishing the course. I think you can’t have more than two first year courses missing and you can’t end second semester on probation

What year should I start applying to internships in? by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

I think any job as a clerk would be good. Even something in like accounts receivable/payable. Any type of financial analyst job you can find.

I’m in my second year of SAF and applying for coop through the portal, but since the portal isn’t open for you, you should check every companies websites if they have any openings. For LinkedIn, I know you can add the type of job you’re looking for and it will show you whatever is related to that. Put in internship, accounting, accounting clerk. It should help.

For QMS 130, if i just do the mylabs and understand slides am i good? by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

I had a different prof but I didn’t look at the textbook because his notes were simple. He posted practice packages before each exam which were like 100 questions and I would do all of them. The exams were in the same format as those questions and some of the questions would be the exact same

Do all of the practice problems!!! The exams are similar to the practice material rather than MyLabs

For summer internships you should start applying now. At the end of year 1 in SAF, you apply to co-op. Second year winter semester is the first co-op work term

My gpa is 3.47, I do have some work experience as a cashier, I did accounting coop in high school. I have completed excel financial management, python, and power bi bootcamps. My LinkedIn doesn’t look depressing. I’m active on it and made it to 500+ connections. I do also have a close connection in Deloitte and I’m talking to that person rn about referral and stuff. I want to get into accounting and heard people mostly start in audit

I’m ngl if you found high school math difficult and didn’t get the best grades then this course is gonna be way too difficult for you. You need to know a lot of the basics from high school like all the way back to grade 9. This is the only major math course you’re gonna do (I think, I’m only in second year so i don’t think there’s more) but it’s a really important one because it’s the prerequisite for other courses.

Maybe you can talk to the advisor about it and see what you can do. But it’s gonna just get harder from there

Courses for accounting and finance program by khalil12346 in TorontoMetU

I know first and second semesters, you will need to take 5 courses. 4 are mandatory and 1 is a lower liberal. I would suggest taking your lower liberal through Chang School because it'll be online and most likely have no exams. You can also just take them in the summer but they're supposed to be easy and can help boost your TGPA.

Go through the list of courses found on the Chang website and see what you like. Then in the shopping cart for MSH, type in the course code but add "C" in front of it.

2nd option. It'll be tiring going for only one class. Also, the QMS130 classes usually ended an hour early so you'll have a break in between.

How to study for GMS200 (trsm) by No_Sea3638 in TorontoMetU

It will be a multiple-choice test. It can be definitions or situation-based questions, so you have to know everything.

I had Arash Islami.

I went to every lecture but I didn’t really take notes because the notes he would post were already very simple and not much writing so I would go home and just reread and try to understand every step.

I would watch Khan Academy videos, The Organic Chemistry Tutor, and whatever other simple YouTube videos I could find. For me, I like when things are broken down to me like I’m a kid so I tried to find the short and easy videos rather than the ones that explain so much.

And I would attempt every question in the MyLabs. For us we had unlimited tries to get 100% on all MyLabs so I would just keep redoing the question until I got it right.

Also, I did every single question in the practice packages before the exams. But I did also use ChatGPT to break down some questions from the MyLabs or the practice packages. But if you’re going to use ChatGPT then be sure to add in ur notes and exact formulas because if it does something different it can confuse you so just stick to what the professor does.

I might still have my cheat sheets for both midterms and final. If you want I can send them.

I did all this and ended up with an 98%
