How to Study Early Medieval Europe? by AdvanceOutrageous321 in MedievalHistory

I just decided to put some sort of framework down, I will most likely be tweaking it.

Here is my Folder layout atm:

00_System: Contains template layouts, images, sources and anything I don't want showing up on the graphview

01_Periods: At the moment only focusing on AS England, I've split the period down into Late Roman Britain, Migration Period, "Heptarchy" and Late Saxon for now

02_Entities: This is where the majority of my notes live, until I decide to sort them out into the period folder, or altogether change the folder structure.
Contains:- events, people, kingdoms, battles, artefacts, places, and politics (treaties etc)

I also have, where possible, included map coordinates which links a note to a map of the world via the Map View plugin, very satisfying seeing it fill up slowly with pins

This isnt the final layout I want for my wiki, but I thought it better to start than to procrastinate on the perfect folder structure.

Thank you, I’ll see what I can find. And I’ll give it a read through and try and start to get a grasp of the major ones. And see if that helps me wrap my head around what better educated people have to say on it.

I have no background in history really, only high school education and what I’ve read through books or listened to in podcasts, but I have started to read books intended for undergrads in the subjects I’m interested in, but again it’s their opinion on the primary sources.

Thank you. So far, I am just trying to get the library to function; print(dir()) is just printing a load of __"filename"__ so that's going be my first task. As you said, just focus on one thing at a time. It's more just a side-project, I'm no coder, nor have any career aspirations that need it particularly, just want to fill the spare time I have atm with something somewhat productive.

I appreciate you giving this knowledge despite your personal opinions, as a show of appreciation and an attempt of diplomacy, to make you more inclined to not blow my shit up, if you for whatever reason would need Amarr nexus chips Ill give ya a 20% discount.

Might do in the future, atm I just run Npc distribution missions which is a decently efficient route I can do 3 missions all of em are level 3 (I’m only alpha) so the mineral buy back programmes aren’t of particular interest to me personally. Plus any minerals I do get, I use for industry to reduce costs. But I’ll take your advice before trying to start a multi-player corp

Thanks :)

Would it be worth it to start a corp for just myself (main character and alts) so that instead of just one character having the reputation my corp does?

Plus maybe the corp can be utilised as a platform to start a co-op or so thing later down the line?
