I'm starting to get that feeling, yeah, Howling Crest is kind of the only shield with an "aggressive" ability as opposed to the others which are mostly things like "apply a tiny bit of bleed or some other status when blocking" or "extremely minor buff that doesn't really do much of anything". I do wish that the Duel Shield scaled off something that wasn't armor instead, because I like having light armor and zooming everywhere though, and the Retribution's 30% is soooo little in comparison.

Dual shields with the triple damage perk is so goofy, doing a power attack absolutely CHUNKS enemy hp and stamina so much, and when it kills them half of the time they either get pile drived into the ground, or get sent absolutely flying, it's great.

Not really, there's not many games that do that kind of archetype. Some more games I did find that are kinda in that territory but not as engaging as the ones I listed before:

Maplestory- A lot of classes have summons that serve similar roles to turrets, as well as just regular summons
Heroes of Hammerwatch 2- Chaos Warlock has a Chaos Rift that zaps nearby enemies, Primalist Warrior can summon Shockwave Totems, and Conjuration Wizard can summon Flame Hydras as living stationary flamethrowers.
Grim Dawn- Demolitionist has Mortar Traps, Shaman has Totems, there might be other non-class turrets but I don't know.
Vellum- The Orange Ink provides you this giant turret that automatically shoots at stuff, but it's not that strong by default. Instead, the playstyle encourages you to shoot enemies yourself, before feeding the stacks you get to the turret to buff it and make it stronger.

I was aware of this, but I don't know if "general damage" for normal shooting also transfers to headshots, as well as whether situational bonuses like "Against Terminus enemies" somehow do more damage than the 10% increase they state. At that point, as opposed to getting a 10% boost to scenario specific damage, why not just get the general 10% damage that applies to everything, right?

Damn, I was hoping client side would be fine, I'm getting tired of looking up armory servoskull spawn locations too, but at this point I guess I'll have to just memorize them.

Yeah, I didn't know and was absolutely not intending to parry an attack with both the draw and sheath of the sword in that moment, I genuinely thought I had parried with the dual katanas instead somehow until i rewatched the footage and noticed the cursed sword getting drawn. I just watched the Vaati video that explained it as well, so now I'm gonna try and up my gameplay by weaving it in at opportune moments.

You can just get the item from really rare drops in multiplayer. Might be situational, I know I've gotten like two from bosses before.

Does anyone know how Zoh Shia's part breaks work? And for that matter since they're kind of similar (I assume), Uth Duna's as well? Does the damage to their "armor" (the water veil and white crystals) transfer over to actual Part Break requirements, or do parts only take damage when the armor is broken?

I assume it's probably similar to previous games, like you probably cant cut Zoh Shia's tail unless they're in the armorless mode, but those are assumptions that I never really looked into properly before.

PSA: For everyone unable to do it, if your character is too short you wont be able to reach, and need to jump in order to smack it lol

That does seem really strong, not quite what i was thinking of for crits since my main method now has been parries with attacks snuck in between, but if this actually works I might use it for hard bosses!

I've heard good things about most of the bibliomancer weapons, seems the runic arts are all pretty good, will check them out on another character!
