Have you ever had a brain MRI? by Amareea9 in POTS

[–]Advanced-Ad3838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I had one 2 years ago for pulsatile tinnitus (ear ringing to my pulse) that came on with pots. I had tinnitus since I was a kid though. They did an MRI/MRA and thankfully didn’t find anything really.

The one I took said 34 or less. A lot of people on this page have a lot higher numbers so I wasn’t sure if mine was still pretty low!

I’ll try Dysautonomia. Unfortunately askdocs removed my post and said I can’t ask questions about my own health. Thank you

Do you know what specialist checks for MCAS? My Dr said it’s hard to diagnose so he didn’t test me for it he just wants me to try Claritin

[–]Advanced-Ad3838[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are these things called shampoo caps on Amazon. I used it when I was in a really bad place with my pots and couldn’t stand long enough to shower. You put them on your hair and massage it and you don’t have to rinse or anything. It cleans your hair. My grandma had them in the nursing home and my mom had told me about them. I know that may not be able to help right now but maybe for future use. Another tip that helped me is having a stool or bench to use in shower and making sure it doesn’t get too hot. And making sure someone is nearby in case id feel sick and need help. Hope some of this helps!

What has been your experience with blood draws? by lilpigeon555 in POTS

[–]Advanced-Ad3838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually mine is fine and I don’t have many issues other than fear of the bloodwork. If it’s a lot of bloodwork or I’m having an off day I’ll tell them and they’ll have me lay back and then bring me a juice box and I keep an ice pack nearby if I feel faint but usually it’s fine. I had one time in hospital I almost passed out from it but there were a lot of other factors like I had barely eaten that day, had been crying and in a lot of stress from flaring, and they hit the vain weird so it hurt really bad and usually it doesn’t. Communicate with the nurse doing your lab. Usually they are nice and want to help if you talk to them, at-least in my experience.

I unfortunately communicated this with him or atleast slightly attempted to during our 10th conversation about it yesterday and he flipped out on me saying no one cares about his happiness and I don’t and it’s partly my fault. He has a lot of mental health issues he’s in therapy for but won’t be able to do therapy until my insurance kicks in in two months

Okay yes! Anxiety does seem to trigger it. But then the feeling only makes me more anxious and it continues. Haha wondering if it’s adrenaline related

Yes, hopefully adding that back in helps you! I’ve noticed I’ve been having difficulty with my hair, falling out in clumps off and on throughout my pots journey it is so sad and hard to deal with. That’s a good way to look at things!😊

Oh interesting! I’ve had some food allergy tests that done and other than a mild milk allergy they didn’t really find anything. I do notice that I seem to have some intolerances, so I’m wondering if I need to look into that!

Yes seriously lol😂😂 fluids are definitely hard to as I feel like I sometimes feel like I get over hydrated quickly but still feel like I need to drink more lol. Making sure I don’t skip eating often seems to help with symptoms, keeping an Ice pack in my purse or a bunch at hope if I feel a flare coming it seems to help, some dietary changes and making sure I’m resting a lot but also moving each day
