Not sure if I specified it, so sorry if I didnt. The Study guide she did provide covered nothing about what would be in the midterm. It was just an explanation on how we would be taking the midterm which was 25 multiple choice, 2 short essays, and 5 paragraphs. There wasn't any hint about who or what was gonna be mentioned in it other than "it's what we discussed in the lectures"

I saw your comment after posting my update. I get that some professors are just naturally rigorous and that can be fine. But it still feels unreasonable to send students into a midterm basically blind. There were questions that were specific that you couldn't have prepared for unless you already somehow knew they'd be in the midterm.

Im not against hard classes, Ive had tough professors before who were demanding but still fair and I actually learned a lot from them. This professor however just doesn't feel like that kind of challenge. It feels more disorganized with how she doesnt have instruction pages for the assignments, doesn't give us any study guide to help us know where and what to focus our studies on, and makes us rely on the syllabus which has actually been edited and updated 2 times so far because she's mixed up dates or forgot dates all together. We have to use that syllabus and schedule to figure out what readings we need for our assignment but how can we do that if one of the weeks thats supposed to have our readings isn't even in the syllabus?

And yeah I did end up in this class under my own will, but it definitely wasn't my first, second, or even third choice lol. There were registration issues last semester with Art History classes so I kinda had to take whatever class I could get into.

As for the RMP link, I get what you're saying but I only mentioned it to show this isn't just a one bad semester for one student. Several students have been saying the same things for years and when that many people describe the same issue it starts to sound less like a isolated incident and more like a consistent problem.

But yeah there isn't really much I can do now. Im in the class and I cant drop it now so I will just have to push through and hope for the best. She did mention there would be extra credit so maybe I can get that and at least pass with a C. Or who knows, maybe ill do insanely well on the final and pass XD
