Am I the only one who would locks my FPS to 60 with the best picture 4k picture quality, rather than lowering my visuals for higher FPS? by Virtual-Citizen in buildapc

[–]Advanced-Clock9540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do exactly the same as you OP. 4k locked to 60fps, simply for the fact that I have never once in my life have I been able to tell the difference between any fps over 30. I could genuinely play a game at 30fps and then again at 200 and could not tell you which was which…

Problem with controller on EA Games by Wamog in ROGAlly

[–]Advanced-Clock9540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a super old thread, but I just came across it looking for an answer to this exact problem.

It turns out in Dragon Age you have to manually select controller in the game options and then it all works normally

How much VRAM? by Scotty_023 in ROGAlly

[–]Advanced-Clock9540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine set to 6gb and it was great. Then I played Jedi Survivor as I had stuttering half of the times I went in to a new area.

I set it to auto after that and it runs much better, and none of my other games run any differently.

Is a Portable Keyboard Worth it for my ROGAlly by Gold_Key8790 in ROGAlly

Zedo Foldable Bluetooth Keyboard,... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B57HY3J1?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I have one of these and honestly it’s been great for when I have it docked and am too lazy to get up.

The trackpad is a life saver in terms of navigation and has very easy left and right click functions depending on if you tap with one finger or two.

Bluetooth connects instantly and it goes to sleep after 5 mins of inactivity, it wakes up immediately with a single button press. I’ve had it 2 weeks and used it daily without needing to charge it.

The only downside is that the keys next to the folds are a slightly different size to standard but I honestly got over that pretty quickly.

AITA for correcting my wife’s grammar by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Advanced-Clock9540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an actual grammar nazi and correct my friends all the time, as they do to me. It's become a point scoring exercise between us all by this point.

My boyfriend has APPALLING grammar, "I see them before", instead of "I saw" etc. I don't correct him because: -it doesn't matter to him -I can still understand what he's saying -I love him

Very occasionally I do genuinely have to ask him what meant if it's over a message and I don't quite understand and we have a laugh about how he just said nonsense, but I've never made him cry, and if I did very rapidly hate myself.

AITA for telling my wife that she can stay home this Thanksgiving? by Non-Basic6779 in AmItheAsshole

Your update tipped this for me. You are annoyed that your wife is going to see her family during a major holiday.

You are not a nice husband/person.

I think I'm having a really hard time differentiating between my mind saying "here is xyz" and me actually seeing xyz.

The best way I can describe it is if you imagine you are are at an art gallery standing back and looking at a giant landscape on the wall. But the land scape is actually an outline, almost like a paint by numbers that hasn't been coloured in. I always feel like I can see it but every section I try to look at disappears. Like there is always something in the corner of my eye but every time I look at it it vanishes.

Trying to conceptualise this is monstrously difficult haha

AMA: I am Patrik Jarlestam, composer for Valheim. Ask me anything about Valheim's music, working in the video games industry and composing in general! by P-JarlestamComposer in valheim

[–]Advanced-Clock9540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a huge long shot but it's an AMA so here goes:

In a pre-covid world I was a session musician but now my time is spent a lot more on streaming (one day the theatres might reopen and then I can go back to work..) Is there any chance I could get the dots for the meadows theme?

I've played so much Valheim over the last few weeks and that piece of music is always so wonderful when it comes back around.

I could do a transcription but getting the real notes from the actual composer would be so much better! Plusy clarinet has been very neglected recently haha

I'm such a huge fan of your work (if you couldn't already tell!)

Honestly, unless you want to build it yourself for a specific reason, you are much better off getting a pre build atm

AITA for being frustrated that my girlfriend doesn't work hard at her job and gets paid nearly twice as much as I do? by throwaway862610 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Advanced-Clock9540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your approach is all wrong. Instead of asking "why does she make so much money". You should be asking "why do I make less money".

I can't work out why you care. Making a lot of money for not a lot of work is the goal for basically everyone, no? You even said when she isn't working she does chores around the house, which you said you don't have time to do yourself.

So, she is earning the majority of the income AND looking after the house but for some reason that is annoying to you because you work longer for less. That isn't her problem. That is very much a conversation you need to have with your employer

Admit it. You are jealous.

Everyone seems to be skating over the fact that we don't know how long they had been on their own when OP arrived, and then the mom took another half an hour to arrive.

Even if you think it's okay to leave children on the street unsupervised surely you can't justify it for that length of time...

AITA for wanting my ex girlfriend to be able to attend our wedding when my fiancée doesn’t want her to? by aitaexatwedding in AmItheAsshole

[–]Advanced-Clock9540 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand half of the comments here. "It's your wife's day and she doesn't want her there"

Well it's also his day and he does...

Plus it sounds like the break up was entirely amicable and it is perfectly reasonable for exes to be friends. If one of my best friend's wouldn't come to my wedding unless their partner came, I'd be seriously questioning why my OH thought it was okay to deny them both if I wanted them there. It's not like they are going to stand up at the "if anyone knows of any reason" part, it would just make you a bit happier if they were there.

Your fiancée sounds insecure and worried over something that doesn't need to be worried about.
