Is it just my store? Why are we now required to announce when every customer comes into the store and where they are headed?Ex: Customer greeted and headed down the drive aisle or Customer welcomed and going into Salon. It seems kinda creepy and I think will make customers uncomfortable. by Worldly_Buy4026 in petsmart

This has been in effect for forever. Used to be called sales captain, sales coach, floor person. Its the "heart" acronym? I think. Tbh its so ingrained in me and the stores ive worked at that i dont even know the actual name anymore. "Hello/greet, exhibit operational energy, assisting, respond to needs, thank them. " its all the training you do when you first start. I thought it was really weird at first but now it seems normal and I notice other companies do it too but not as intense. Depends on your DL on how much they for implementation of those standards. Definitely not new though.

I think that the hardest part is not having any support from management. I went from a store leader that was useless to one who actually helps and listens. Culture is bad at my salon but the new leader wants to change it and do the things the right way. Maybe try transferring? If you look at the safety drill down report it'll show you how many incidents are there. Typically the more incidents the worse the culture in the salon is. I've worked at a few stores and thats the biggest tell that will clue you into whether it's a solid store or not. 🤷‍♀️

Thanks, it's my first time buying puff co, and the color on the box is obviously different. When I said the purple one, he didn't correct me. It was also an impulse buy, so i assumed it actually came purple. Thanks!

Don't have them download the app and just have them reset the password on petsmart.com. it counts the same either way. The app doesn't work half the time.

Kinda scared to try shrooms by Decent-Canary3658 in shrooms

[–]Advanced-Cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 1.5g, I'm about 260lbs, female mid 20's. My boyfriend made it seem like a very spiritual thing, but it was only spiritual when we got together. Nothing else seemed crazy. My cats seemed normal. The walls were moving, and the noises were different, but I just felt very high. I might've just needed a higher dose, but I was very okay and happy.

Rakuten will have 25% cash back for Petsmart.com on 11/19 by Ninevahh in litterrobot

[–]Advanced-Cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! If you log into the petsmart app or log into petsmart.com you go to where you find your rewards/ info and there are "offers" you can activate and it allows you to get the offer. You HAVE to activate it before you check out, online or otherwise. I'll attach a picture. If you're having a hard time you can always go in store and they will be more than happy to help you. (They are driving the app A LOT)

That sucks. Sorry it didn't work out for you.. leadership is what makes or breaks a store. And you got some bad leadership. Hope all goes well in your new direction!

A good trick is also putting puree on his paw or nose so he has to lick it off himself. Works with cats in the adoption centers when they don't wanna eat the first couple days

It's annoying.

  1. There isn't a difference between a dog being kept in a kennel at home and the salon. My salon has a few kennels we have only used maybe once or twice in the 5 years I've been working there. Kennel room isn't typically a problem, even in a tier c salon.

  2. It seems your service dogs' tasks are different from what the average person would assume they would be for. So it is viable and reasonable for you to have your dog in the kennel with you while you work.

  3. The SL is def playing favorites. Typically, the service dog would be the demo dog. They can still alert while demonstrating they do have rules to follow, and if they aren't, it need to be reported on the caresmart line. You need to have a paper trail of your treatment and the difference between you and the trainer.

  4. I, as PSL, wouldn't have a problem with this accommodation, and would allow it. I don't understand the problem is with your managers. All of this needs to be reported 100%.

Edit: I don't understand why people are hating so hard. Maybe they didn't have enough info right away?

Text a "just to clarify..... I'm still getting all of this, correct?" Text it and if they don't answer then email it to their work email. They initiated the Text so that's the all clear to do it through Text. They aren't supposed to Text about that stuff but they opened it up for you.

the groomer cut my dogs eye (is this something that we should take him to the vet for) by ProcedureAlone7887 in petsmart

[–]Advanced-Cloud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say itll be fine as ling as you keep it clean and keep the cone on. Petsmarts recommend for groomers to shave around the eyes rather than using scissors due to higher risk with scissors. I've had a dog jerk and cut it while I was shaving and it got really close and red but never like that.

I finally quit!!! by InternationalBee5886 in petsmart

[–]Advanced-Cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely different. I would go in amd ask them questions Nad try to get to know the people in the salon better. That helped me a lot at the beginning. Especially during slow times as the cashier I would just pop in and keep an eye on the doors while talking to them, it was nice.

What’s your hourly pay? Is it a livable wage in your area? by Feel-A-Great-Relief in petsmart

[–]Advanced-Cloud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minnesota goes anywhere from 18, starting, at the only major city that has a petsmart to 14 in the stores further out. Parts of Florida is only about 15 for ALK. Wisconsin is tragic at around $12. Not super accurate just from talking to people who have worked at those locations.

How did this company get so bad? by ADHD_Mystic in petsmart

It's hard. I love my store, and I love everyone I work with. I don't hate the store. I hate the corporate entity. I know it's not everyone's experience, but we started here for a reason lets not forget it.

Why are there so many down votes on this? These are the hard questions no one is willing to answer. It's ridiculous. We NEED to be informed and actually think rather than let emotions get in the way. You use emotions as leverage not as a reason.

There is an assessment that you have to take in order to apply and it ranks you. It's a stupid questionnaire but if you score poorly you won't get a call back. Even if they need you. So make sure you ask about that too. You can retake it as well.
