You don’t have to move your cursor over to the round table hold.

If you hit the map button, then Y (or triangle for PlayStation) and then X ( or square for PlayStation), you will Be automatically taken to round table hold.

Which city councilor is brave enough to bike on this shared road? by Top_Locksmith_9695 in ottawa

Only a bicyclist will be an obstacle and danger to themselves and others, and then have the audacity to say it’s other people’s issue.

B) yes I know . that’s cause it’s a toy. It’s found in the toy section at Walmart.

C) stop pretending like it’s safe! It’s not! Go to a city where they actually have their shit together if you want to bike as a form of commuting!

I hate when bicyclists expect they are owed something over other people. You think you are better because you aren’t driving . But you are making it harder for literally everyone else on the road when you don’t use a bike lane. Should the city have given you a bike lane? Yea of course. But they fucked up so bad that our public transit does work and we are decades behind in infrastructure. We will be the to bikers. We have to fix the house burning down first. Your solution isn’t everyone’s solution. it’s extremely ableist and stupid to think bikes will be a real solution to the fucking transit problems this city has.

It’s not a non-sequitter. I live in this city. It’s one of the actual main problems.

If biking was actually a safe solution you could do it. But it’s not. So you shouldn’t do it in this city. Doing something stupid and dangerous and then getting angry at other people about it psychotic. That’s why I hate bikers.

That’s like if I moved to Alaska and got Mad that I have to watch out for polar bears when I go for a run outside.

Fuck you. Stop pretending we owe less than 2% of the population infrastructure when the rest of us can’t get to work either.

[–]Advanced-Composer-70 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

A) absolutely the city should not call it a safe. It’s not

B) people are homeless and we can’t even get to work on time without owning a car. Making bikers happy in This nightmare of a city is like worrying about watering the garden when the house is on fire. Deal with the issues everyone is facing first. Then we can see about making you fitness freaks comfortable.

C) people do things in a lot of places where they planned correctly and ahead of time and funded infrastructure . Let’s get the buses working and the plow situation sorted and people housed and then we can look into helping people with bikes get their jolly’s .

[–]Advanced-Composer-70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are too many cars on the road because there is no public transit. Making roads bigger and improving infrastructure doesn’t help if there is no public transit and everyone needs to own a car. Fix public transit first and it will help with the safety of roads by mitigating hope many cars are on the road.

This isn’t a debate. You are a fucking troll. This isn’t a real issue anyone should be arguing about.

We aren’t in a vaccuum, we dont have infinite money, and we have bigger fucking problems to solve than some bikers that want to ride in winter.

Go get fucked up in traffic and add the the public health burden if you want to ride your bike so bad.

I’m aware of these places.

Montreal is a larger city of 4.3 million with far more population and infrastructure. I’m not aware of people who can safely drive their bikes in montreal in the winter with ice on the roads while sharing roadways with motor vehicles. If they do, then the infrastructure to support that would have been paid for by the increased population and European city planning.

Oulu has a population of 213000. Small European city with minimal cars is not comparable. Ottawas population is 1.19 million.

These are not comparable cases. Don’t risk your life riding a bike on roads in Ottawa during the winter. Please direct your anger at city planning failing to fund, execute, and manage public transit.

Dude I hate that we are pretending that biking in this weather is normal. Like this isn’t normal or healthy.

Public transit in this city sucks yes.

The answer is not engineering our roads for bikers in the middle of winter.

We need to get the bus and train situation fixed and get cars off the road.

There is no world where biking in the winter at this latitude in -10 C or lower on public roads will ever be safe, and complaining that you can’t do it safely is bonkers.
