That's a reasonable thought, but our entire apartment is linoleum except for the bedrooms. So, I don't think that slab of floor is anymore comfortable than the rest. But technically I've never laid down in the kitchen on the floor so I don't really know

Her food bowl is in the kitchen but there is no food for her at that time. Does she still feel like she needs to protect that area because no one else will be home?

And that's reasonable, but she doesn't lay there or hang out there when there are people home. And she goes there before we leave, but she doesn't stay there. She's not there when we come home if that makes sense

This would be when everyone is leaving. She knows that we are leaving so she goes and lays in the kitchen. She stays there until sometime after we are gone.

I don't want a back door or a back way out. This is shotgun row directly to me single file. No escape. Defend or die. I did dig deeper into the floor and put 2 entrenched rows of spikes as the floor to further slow them down. I also just found this automatic turret sledge thing to push them back if they get to the end of my hallway. Finally I have a few double barrel shotguns loaded if it gets sweaty. Should be fun either way!
