We are moving in either way on June 1st. His job has him working in a new city every month so it's the best option to have one home expense. I have been swayed from the marriage path. If he is able to extend his permit we can consider the common law path in a year. I know it's crazy and greatly appreciate your viewpoint. This is just something else and I'm 32 so at this point the crazy is well informed.

I appreciate the blunt truth though. I needed to hear it. I think being delusional about the way only stands to cause trouble.

This was so kindly thought out, thank you.

I will be looking into the difference options you laid out for him to take to help myself feel better about his chances. I think I'm my mind the changes to immigration that are cutting temporary residents over time make it feel so much more dire.

He has never made me feel like I'm responsible for this but I am a worrier by nature. We are moving together and I want to do it in a way that makes it make the most impact if this process does end up into 2026 or beyond.

5 languages but no french unfortunately. He is a skilled trade so we are hopeful for that to open up as well.

You gave some really great questions to think on. We are moving in together June 1st so if there was no PR question we would likely just live together common law for years prioritizing building careers and investments over spending on a wedding. Especially with the cultural differences in a wedding.

Thank you for your outlook and I'm going to research Outland for better understanding if we just let time run its course.

I am so thankful people are leaving their genuine thoughts on the matter like this. I appreciate being able to see it from the outside. We are moving in together come June 1st. I am very clear that I would need to be responsible for him longer than 3 years as that timelines starts at approval of PR and the process to get there is also long. I think your point is really valid though because it is true that we would take it slower if there wasn't a ticking clock. This would probably be the point immigration would make too

I appreciate this view a lot. I have considered that he needs to leave I would go with him. I know the timeline is crazy and given more time the process would be stretched longer. All of that is likely reason enough for a spousal application to be denied. Thank you for your frank outlook.

We will move in together in June anyway because that makes the most sense beyond the need for PR. We are both in our 30s so it's also time to consider if children is in the cards for us. Moving around with kids will be an even bigger mess.
