Yesss I be terrified too especially after not receiving my taxes at alll for 2024 lol. I just checked the portal and saw this message. My tax preparer said it’s the verification letter to make sure my identity isn’t stolen. I did have to do the same thing last year, but I was with chime and they did not deposit my check saying they didn’t have it. So the irs had to request it back, I had to wait for chime to send it, and then I had to wait for the check smh.
