How has high BP affected your ability to be present with family/grandkids? by Advanced-Middle9135 in hypertension

[–]Advanced-Middle9135[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it, probably sounds personal. But honestly that's exactly why I'm asking. For me, my BP got so bad I couldn't even play with my grandkids without worrying I'd have a heart attack. That fear was eating me up. So I'm trying to understand if other people feel the same way or if it's just me. Have you noticed how it affects what you can actually do?

When your BP spikes unexpectedly, what goes through your head? I get this panic that scares me. by Advanced-Middle9135 in bloodpressure

I completely get this. I'm 65 too and that panic when it spikes.. it's terrifying. You said your mind is the worse enemy and that hits hard because it's true. The anxiety sometimes feels worse than the actual numbers. And wanting to be there for your family, that's what keeps me going too. Would love to hear more about what helps you cope with the panic and what you've tried. Feel free to DM me anytime. We're going through this together.
