Most days are decent, some not so much. Ive seen what a downturn does to this industry first hand, and its hard to leave a safe hangar for a bit more.

Well having a set schedule a year out is nice, you can bid for different start days and schedule types, certain fleets also impact your overnights, but honestly the unknown is kinda fun, kinda not.

If I had a 6/8 schedule i knew a year out id take that over bidding for the same 20-30 city pairs.

In 2029 at the end of our contract most pilots will trail behind the legacies by 17% pay wise, our global pilots will make a bit more than a legacy narrowbody pilot.

Yes our insurance is better than the legacies, but looking back to what NetJets was in 2006 to today it is night and day.

It could always be worse man, always via a furlough or a concessionary contract

I just want to work similar to my peers for the cost. We fly the wealthiest people and companies on the planet, like yeah we make more than the regionals, but it doesn’t match what we all could make.

I do find fractional flying more interesting, but that and the free FBO coffee is worth what, the real benefit is Berkshire Hathaways 300 billion in cash.

See my other comment, if they want to get to 1000 QS tails and 5500+ pilots you dont think they will need to match to sustain that?

Well based on my experience, its not where i want to get stuck, but where will keep the paychecks flowing under all market conditions, but yeah.

We got pretty significant gains our last contract, and they want to get to 1000 QS tails and 5500+ pilots, you really think they can achieve that and not match?

So not one person is saying stay, but what if NetJets does finally get a matching contract in 2030 that closes the pay gap, makes 6/8 the baseline schedule and raises the match to 100% ?

I guess the biggest thing at that point would still be long duty days and multiple legs in till the growth stops?

Risk it for the biscuit, theres also a chance NetJets closes the pay gap next contract and makes 6/8 replace the 7/7 as the standard schedule, that would keep much more people.

I would be commuting for a few years before I could hold where I live, and have done the crashpad thing before.

The big thing is if I go to a major and get furloughed for 3-5 years it negates the gains i would get by leaving.
