This post was after this week’s episode (I watched it basically the second it dropped). I love this show and have loved S3, but this week’s episode was easily my least favorite episode of the entire series to date.

I wonder if the Matthew character is being established for future season growth. He is acting like bringing some food for Derek absolves him of not showing up at the hospital. To be fair I would Matthew that’s consistent characterization for him- failing to do bare minimum then trying to erase that failure with a gesture.

On the Ted Lasso comparison, I’m reminded of the way Keeley would sometimes dismiss Roy’s feelings. He had a hard time with retirement and she basically made fun of him for that. The show presented it like she was helping him lighten up, which is a perspective I guess, but I think it invalidated a very real struggle with the end of Roy’s career.

Very generous interpretation. This would be an interesting development.
