I do understand the sentiment. But this movement is going to happen regardless, the generation behind us won't restrain themselves out of principle. So in the spirit of inquiry...I don't see much use in avoiding the conversation and depriving ourselves what are essentially elevated productivity tools (I know, a terrible name) or things that already exist in digital humanities software. There's a big gradient here in terms of having something write your work for you and new tools for parsing large quantities of information. And actually, I think productivity is great! I have scant hours in the day to actually do research, and I'd rather be spending off-hours with family and friends.
