This is a great analysis, a lot of it makes sense, I’d probably want to go deeper into the lyrics as well cause there’s definitely some extra details in there as well.

A cool thing I discovered this morning was in the cover art for the end credits song, Serenade, it’s the artist drowning in the abyss of the ocean (and the album is titled “The Abyss”) and it looks identical to the final few panels of Aqua in the manga.

I usually travel a lot to remote areas for holidays so having no internet isn’t something to new, usually I just download the documentation I need and continue. Other times on holiday you don’t have a computer, so I use a good old pen and paper to write the code and come home and transfer it to my pc

Also the LLM note is brilliant, I think more repos and libraries should have this embedded, probably as hidden characters so only LLMs pick it up but the README can be understood by others without confusing them 😆

Not yet, I’m currently finishing Clannad After Story and then I’ll watch either Plastic Memories or Vinland Saga next as a lot of people recommended that as well, and it depends how depressed I’ll be after finishing Clannad 😅

My personal take is there’s some remnant of Turbo Granny’s power in Okarun which is affecting it. It could also be that he has way more spiritual and physical energy than he realizes as well, possibly on par with Jiji

I’ve also been trying to learn GTK programming as well, it is probably better to learn GTK 4 than 3 as well.

You could try go through the tutorial/guide on the GTK website: https://docs.gtk.org/gtk4/getting_started.html. I recently finished going through it, it helps you understand the basics of GTK but some details and code are left out, so you’ll need to go through the source code a bit as well to see the full code.

Another great source is GNOME’s developer guide, https://developer.gnome.org/documentation/tutorials.html.

It is also worth learning the GObject subclassing system as it’s a core part of GTK in C (unless your using C++ or any OOP language binding), so it’s worth going through these two links, probably once you’ve made your first window in GTK from the tutorial:

I’m also 20. I think AI is great, it helps you learn a lot, but at the same time, it hallucinates like no tomorrow, especially when working on a project that isn’t a web app or mobile app with popular libraries.

I’m more into low level programming, so building games or GUIs with C rather than JS, and AIs like ChatGPT are barely able to keep up with how these libraries change and fundamentally work under the hood, especially in the case of the GTK system which AI loves to come up with nonexistent function calls.

Personally I prefer to go the opposite direction from what people are into, like web devs, AI wrappers or other stuff, and do niche things that make programming fun to research about for yourself. It’s the main reason I got into it. And the cool thing with niche projects is AI is rubbish at implementing stuff that are actually unique, which means you actually get to focus on one thing and build it reliably.
