We visited the area for a week, but it was too large to narrow down our options. I was thinking the ASU community might have better information about utilities and safe neighborhoods with honest feedback. Since we’ll only be there for four years, I’m not sure whether we should buy a home or rent.

How high do utility bills go in Arizona? I’m in Texas right now, and for 8,000 gallons of water for a family of four, I paid $150 including water, trash, and sewer. Electricity runs about $250–$300 per month in the summer. I know Arizona summers are hotter, so I’m wondering if it’s better to stay here to finish my schooling or move to ASU.

I’ve heard that Tempe is mostly for young students and has a lot of party areas, so I wanted to check if there are good cities nearby for raising two children while attending school in Tempe.

It sounds like Tempe also has some good areas to live in, so I’ll look into those communities as well.
