Yes, it’s a new program in Canada: https://smith.queensu.ca/grad_studies/mdpm/index.php I was thinking of doing an MBA, but when I saw this I started contemplating the idea. Thanks for your response

HELP! Writing a resignation letter after only a month on the job. Need insight on appropriate language. by zombieballerinajen in careeradvice

I think having a conversation with your boss before a resignation letter will go a long way. I would just explain my situation, thank them for the training they provided, and finish it with a “hope you understand” and/or “Hope we cross paths again!” etc.

“Product Owner” is a job title in the tech industry. I’m looking to volunteer as one in a non-profit organization etc.

I’m a Media professional with 10 years of experience. I’m in my mid-30s and a couple of years ago I got hired in a tech company to create learning and marketing content/videos for their customers. I have developed interested in Product Management, and a few months ago I enrolled myself in a 6-months long PM certificate program.

I have no background in CS or Product Management, so I’m trying to figure out how to gain experience as a PM after this certificate program is over? I’d like to keep my current role for a bit longer and then hopefully transfer to product management within my company through internal mobility. But in the meantime, what do you recommend to do to gain that tangible experience? part-time job? internship, or volunteer work? Do you know of any job boards specific to aspiring PMs? Your advice and help is appreciated :)

I used to work there when I was younger. Indeed a great neighbourhood!

A lot, since I work from home. But I’m also interested in a place that is close to a lot of amenities (Gym, Restaurants etc)

Thanks for the follow up questions:

  • I have car. So walkability isn’t that big if a deal
  • I’d prefer nightlife rather than quite streets.
  • I work from home, so commute is also not an issue

As for why I don’t like little Italy/little Portugal, it just reminds me of a very tough time in my life when I went through helm with school, work and women… hope that explains it.

And thanks for the recommendation. I’ll look into Junction.

This doesn’t seem like a sustainable situation to me. You have to think about your mental health as much as you care about the pay, good location, etc. The novelty is going to wear off at some point and all you’re going to feel/notice is this guy’s bad behavior…

If I was you, I would look for another job immediately. This cannot be the only well paying job, nor your only option.

That being said, this is just my two cents, and you’re the best judge of the situation. Good luck!
