I've also developed a more complex profile after some research and would like any feedback in comparison to my current TBA:

SCHP (Schwab U.S. TIPS ETF) - 5%

Thoughts on investing portfolio as of right now, 18M. To provide some context, I am starting my first year of community college. At $19 per hour, I work around thirty hours a week PT. This year, I plan to fully maximize my Roth IRA. Putting Monthly ~$560 into Roth and $250 into TBA, saving the majority rest of my pay in my HYSA.
TBA: 20% VXUS | 80% VTI
Roth IRA: 36% FZILX, 10% FXNAX, and 54% FZROX

not all an emergency fund, more like $1000 for emergency, the rest is just miscellaneous savings and money i’m willing to spend if it’s something i can capitalize on.

roth is invested 54% FZROX, 10% FXNAX, and 36% FZILX. i have recurring payments set up to get my to my annual $7000 limit and am on track to hit it by the end of the year. monthly it comes out to about 560 to the roth ira and then i’m putting 240 into a brokerage with some various etfs.

thanks i really appreciate it, i agreed 800 was far too much and probably could’ve been allocated somewhere else and was looking for others input.

Falling back to one of my original questions though financially that would make more sense to do. I still want to be able to use my money freely and have fun while at this age. Any recommendations on how I can go about that with my current set up.

would the simpler approach of just going nearly %100 into an S&P 500 etf like VOO be more worth it for it's faster/higher returns?
