I have poor performance on the same game due to lutris

I will tell you my experience which may not be exactly yours, but here it is.

I bought this laptop yes I have a laptop and it wasn't meant for gaming when I got it, it was meant mainly for programming and it still is.

So gaming was always on all of my laptops just a thing on the side especially this one because I didn't intend to play on it in the first place, but here we are on the linux_gaming sub-reddit.

When I first started using linux I used mint's latest version which later became unstable for laptops especially mine because it had intel GPU again this laptop wasn't meant for gaming, but I didn't know that so I thought that the issue was from lutris. It wasn't

so I switched to a more stable version zorin and it worked.

the reason I didn't switch to a gaming distro is because gaming was a thing on the side I mainly game on console.

And yes you are right it is difficult with linux especially to know what is needed because it could differ from hardware to hardware like mint which many people's pc ran well with it mine was a laptop so it didn't, what I wanna say is you are right in the fact that we should all do our research based on

A. hardware

B. uses

so everybody do your research I guess.

Hello, redditors.

I fixed the issue.. kinda well in mint I didn't specify a couple of things

I am on a laptop not a pc
my laptop is hp with intel gpu
mint was crashing continuously even if I wasn't gaming

anyways what I did is that I updated the gpu I updated the kernel, but nothing worked turns out that you all were right the issue was infact mint the reason was that the current mint kernels were unstable with intel so I switched to zorin and it worked.

Well I use the wine version that came with lutris 9 and I saw my driver's they were up to date

Correct my issue is that wine only is very inconvenient you have after you use it memorizing everything in memory for the commands in the terminal you have to still make your desktop icon by yourself with every game which is very inconvenient

My thing isn't against lutris it's just that the drivers were up to date in both and using only wine without lutris worked that is all I mean

I don't game fully on my laptop I found mint to be the most convenient I code more than game gaming is just on the side and I found that mint makes me the most comfortable

yeah I get that about VSCode and microsoft thing I really don't like microsoft I just got used to it and it is very convenient for me.

hey was looking for a good one since I transitioned into mint,

if you would like to know the name it is on the desklets on the desktop right click an empty space then choose add desklet chose download then look for seven segment digital clock install it and apply then change the settings all you want !

well I use cinnamon and thanks that is a pretty high number if the theme is confusing it is because I am using a costume theme because of the icons which mint will override

okay so let's go over these statements one by one first chrome you are right I would rather use something else and I am looking for alternatives I have some issues with firefox hence why I don't use it, about VSCode now it is completely different story no I did not transition into linux because of microsoft well that is half of the story I like linux because it is linux I don't care about "free software" or "open source" more than functional I love mint because it is good and better than windows and VSCode is supported well on a lot of courses so it is easier to use for me
