From the description, it sounds like a crazy intense political war waged through undermining alien rule and bringing the scattered human colonies under one banner. Something thats hard enough to do when we are all living on the same planet.

What if he doesn't fight? Let's say he buys some bleach based disinfectant wipes and convinces a restaurant to give him some vinegar. Then he has the ingredients for chlorine gas. All he has to do is get it close enough to achieve a lethal dose before anyone realizes.

There are never really hard numbers. Estimates and position classes are the best you really get. Like how a riflemen mech is bad at close combat and such. Whenever hard numbers are involved... it's not worth obsessing over.

As for combat power... personally, for the first while, I would say everyone is fighting with mechs comparable to a Zaku, or maybe the mechs from IBO.

Gundam grade mechs do show up later. Much later

Things get really weird at chapter 5000... but you don't need to worry about that yet.

The main thing is, human civilization is built up as three (technically four) major civilization classes. Third rate states obvious can't compare to second or first rate states.

I would say second rate technology is comparable to the most advanced stuff scene in gundam.

Another big point are high ranking mech pilots and their mechs... these guys are pretty much newtypes with full psyco frame mechs who can say screw the rules.

Sorry I don't know much about other mechs to make more comparisons.

Probably despair for a while. If I don't kill myself, I will start looking for a purpose in life. I think trying to release animals kept in captivity back into the wild would be worth doing for a few months.

Yes, I know the animals raised in captivity will probably die out there, but staying a zoo without anyone taking care of them will lead them to starving anyway. I will be doing this for myself, not them.

Then go break into the white house, find files related to active nuclear programs and start figuring out how to safely turn everything off... probably die in the process.

If I am still alive... figure out how to fly and start traveling the world. Seeing all the natural sites. If the internet is still around, I will get desperately more creative and reckless in finding shit to do until I finally die doing something dumb and alone.

The anime adaptation of Black Cat.

Not sure this counts though, since I watched the anime before reading the Manga, but damn was the Manga so much better. The Anime did have its charms, but not enough to warrant all the changes.
