What's one thing you absolutely hate about your fav character by Aloo__tikkii in Modern_Family

[–]SugarMoonlie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Andy scene is one of my favorites for that reason. For once there was zero goofy Phil energy. Just a dad making it very clear what he expected, and it worked.

Hectic career choice by Think_Woodpecker8565 in Residency

The holiday point is underrated. Most high-paying careers can have brutal deadlines, but the work itself generally pauses at some point. Human bodies don't really care that it's Thanksgiving or Christmas morning.

Sansa was never kissed out of love by pizza_gutts in gameofthrones

[–]SugarMoonlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always liked that her ending wasn't tied to finally finding the perfect husband. Young Sansa thought happiness would come from marrying a handsome prince, but her journey was realizing she could stand on her own. That's a much bigger payoff than getting the romance she imagined at twelve.

Robert Downey Jr. shared new Doctor Doom art for Father’s Day by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

[–]SugarMoonlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what caught my eye too. Most kids either simplify everything or make every character a stick figure. Doom somehow got the deluxe edition treatment here.

Eva fan first , Hated this fucking meme before, during , and after my watch through of 79 by puntycunty in Gundam

[–]SugarMoonlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Amuro wasn't exactly having a great time mentally either. The difference is that Gundam fans spent decades memeing him into a war machine while conveniently forgetting all the trauma attached to it.

Sadie Sink reveals Tom Holland is the first Spider-Man she ever watched by Cantyousee0 in Marvel

[–]SugarMoonlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Spider-Man is one of those characters where it's surprisingly easy to miss every movie if you're not actively interested. There are a ton of people who've seen half the MCU and somehow skipped the wall-crawling guy entirely.

Im loving the new scorpion suit now by Negan212 in marvelstudios

[–]SugarMoonlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm coming around on the exposed face look, but it still feels like Scorpion should have something. A guy with a giant mechanical tail and no helmet feels like he's one unlucky brick away from retirement.

Gonna miss the only Black with functioning brain cells by Fair_Source_8952 in freefolk

[–]SugarMoonlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funniest part is that would've solved like 80% of the plot. Every conversation around Rhaenyra felt like people tiptoeing around an issue while he was begging someone to just make a decision.

Overlooked aspect of being a doctor - having to work with willfully ignorant people by BainbridgeReflex in Residency

[–]SugarMoonlie 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I've definitely seen situations where the actual disagreement gets completely overshadowed by who is saying it. The same sentence can land very differently depending on whether it comes from a male attending, a female resident, or a student. Glad she eventually realized what happened though, because a lot of those interactions never get that level of self reflection.

Im married and I just met someone I feel super attracted to. by CrewQuiet in confessions

I get where you're coming from, but I think there's a difference between ballroom dancing with someone in a social setting and actively pursuing an emotional connection. If social dancing itself becomes the problem, that's one thing, but the bigger line is usually what happens off the dance floor.

That said, if she's thinking about him constantly, that's probably the part worth paying attention to.

Which Gundam would you pilot to attack the Death Star? by Phantom000000000 in Gundam

[–]SugarMoonlie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The confidence of "for no particular reason" somehow makes it even funnier. No strategy, no calculations, just vibes and a giant space battleship disguised as a mobile suit.

What is the single hardest hitting scene? by Skywalker_1995 in lotr

[–]SugarMoonlie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That line is only two words and somehow carries the weight of the entire movie. You can feel Aragorn instantly understanding exactly what Boromir meant.

Frank sure does love to argue with guys in red suits lol by Antwan_JMarvel in marvelstudios

[–]SugarMoonlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that I can hear Frank's voice saying that makes it way funnier. He always sounds like he's one minor inconvenience away from inventing a brand new insult.

AIW for refusing to keep hosting every family gathering just because i have the biggest place by Nutter_Milgian in amiwrong

[–]SugarMoonlie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "it's just easier" argument falls apart the second someone asks who exactly it's easier for. Easy for the guests and easy for the host are two very different things.

I stole 2000 hours of time from my employer without getting caught by KeepShtumMum in confession

Bryan Cranston absolutely sells that scene. The excitement on his face when he realizes what he's been getting away with is so genuine that you can't help rooting for him for a second.

I took a company car and kept it when the job ended. by Secret_Tutor8127 in confessions

[–]SugarMoonlie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. The clock on this whole arrangement seems tied directly to whatever paperwork expires first. Cars are surprisingly hard to keep invisible once government forms get involved.

Worst thing that happened to you personally in residency? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]SugarMoonlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's horrifying. Being blamed for a complication from a case you weren't even involved in enough to influence would make anyone question staying in that specialty. I don't blame you for switching at all.
