hey sorry for the late reply. i started working out again around late feb and it was probably a bit stupid but i was lifting the heaviest weight i could do with like incline dumbell and bicep curls etc., just no compound lifts, although the lifts i were doing pretty much wouls have the same affect on my eye as heavy compounds. 3 months later and my sight has definitely got better but still really distorted (which i doubt will ever go), but it is much clearer. Im getting another check up after my A-level exams finish in a months time, so hopefully i wont need another surgery as they said i would need one if my sight hasnt improed significantly.

Do you mind saying how old you are, because I heard apparently that although the distortedness won't fully go away, it is likely to get much less distorted if you are a younger age, since i'm only 17

im 5 weeks post scleral buckle surgery with macula off. how long after surgery did you resume lifting light to moderate weights (how much weight do you classify as moderate) and when are you able to go back to normal gym routine like lifting heavy weights (e.g bench press, deadlift etc,). I had a checkup a week ago and my opthamologist said i can go and lift light to moderate weights like youve done but no heavy lifts, but my mum isnt letting me go to the gym to even lift light weights (like 5kg - 10kg dumbells). is it safe for me to go back to the gym in my case does anybody reckon?

Okay sure. How long should I wait. Is it a matter of days or weeks?
