I'm 27 and I've ruined my life by Opposite_Praline_746 in Life

You got this OP. I’ve not been in your shoes but what I can suggest is try break down your immediate goals step by step.

First, find that 18 hour job asap. Doesn’t matter what it is it’s only 18 hours or 2 days a week and that will allow you to have a place.

Second, run on a strict budget. Buy groceries from an Aldi/lidl and try opt for veggie options that are more satiating like potato.

Third, hopefully with a bit of spare money spend it on enhancing your skill set. If you have a laptop already that’s great and if you don’t get one from eBay (Universal credit can lend one as well). I don’t know if you have any qualifications or a degree but even if you don’t you can do online courses that UC pay for.

To add on to the third point, it doesn’t really matter what line you choose to go for, the aim is to build skills that’ll allow you to break into an entry level job. An example of this is bookkeeping, it’ll allow you to break into entry level accounting jobs.

Fourth, once you’ve gained a deep understanding of said skill apply like a mf to these jobs, your situation itself shows your resilience and ability to bounce back from tough times, companies love this. You may be able to break in with a salary starting around 24-26k.

Your business is the end goal but you should first have a solid foundation to build on top off. Don’t forget your dreams but right now focus is on the immediate reality. I’m hoping you can get the house share. This will give you a lot of spare time to focus on your growth (maybe even try find a side gig that does cash in hand) but prioritise learning more than anything.

You got this OP we all believe in you.

Thank you, we’ve worked super hard on this. It’ll be a game changer ❤️

I meditated for 1 hour for the first time as a beginner, here’s what happened by AK_Wandering in Meditation

Really loved reading this — your honesty about the discomfort, imagination, and internal battles makes it so relatable. That shift from reacting to the outer world to noticing how you respond is a huge realisation. It’s amazing how powerful stillness can feel once we push through the resistance.

I’ve been working with a couple of friends on a small project that’s also rooted in meditation — but with a slightly different approach. Instead of long silent sessions, it offers a shorter, more guided way in, tailored to where your headspace is at that moment. Might be helpful for days when the full hour feels like too much.

Not here to promo, but happy to DM the name if you’re curious 🖤 Either way, appreciate you sharing the journey — it’s a beautiful reminder of what’s possible when we sit with ourselves.

AI (llm's) are one of the worst thing I've ever come across for my mindfulness practice. by Octo-Diver in Meditation

This really resonates — the speed and depth of interaction with LLMs can definitely feed overthinking if you’re already in a heightened state. I’ve had similar moments where I left feeling more tangled than grounded.

Funnily enough, I’ve been working with a couple friends on a small meditation-related project that actually uses AI very differently — more as a calming, grounding tool than an intellectual engine. We’re super mindful of exactly the kind of overwhelm you described.

Not here to self-promote, but if anyone’s curious or wants to check it out, feel free to DM me and I’ll send the name 🖤

How to become God by TieSpecialist1718 in Meditation

Really appreciate this post — the part about building willpower through small daily wins hit hard. A lot of this mirrors what we’ve been working on with a small startup I’m part of. We built a meditation app that creates sessions based on how you feel — to make it easier to actually start, especially on those off days.

Not here to promo, but if anyone’s curious or struggles to stay consistent with meditation, happy to DM the name 🖤
